I just want to add that nowhere in my mind do you get credit for beating someone when you spend the entire match running away from someone. When you do nothing but back up and when your opponent gets in deep you either turn and run out of bounds or pull them out so you don't get taken down. Also I'm not sure in what world when a wrestler gets to their feet turns in and get double underhooks and drives the previous "top" wrestler out of bounds that that isn't considered an escape. Basically the refs botched the 152 match up completely, and whoever wants to post the score of the match and call a wrestler out because their proud of the "victory" should get their heads checked. Clearly the Independence wrestler was stalling the entire match and due to poor officiating got away with it. It would seem that when your wrestling someone who's better than you albeit 10 lbs lighter in weight running terrified and getting questionable calls in your favor is something to be proud of. In my mind wrestling is a combatative sport where two young men battle it out to see who is the better, unfortunately it seems that poor officiating and coaches seemingly banking on that fact is what's common nowadays. That's sad because I'm fairly certain the ref isn't supposed to decide the outcome of the match, but that's exactly what they are doing when they let people run for 6 minutes and then score when their opponent tries a risky shot in order to try and score. This problem is rampant in MidTn and it needs to be addressed. It's almost unbearable to watch anymore.

I seriously hope you are not saying that Indy's 160 stalled the whole match and thats how he beat Daniel White. I dont know how you "spend the entire match running away from someone" and end up beating a kid 15-9. And if now you trying to make more excuses about why the Indy 160 beat him by saying Daniel was ten pounds lighter, and that the refs are to blame because they dont know how to make calls and "This problem is rampant in MidTn" you are truley a sad sad person. I belive that Taylor Dixon(Indy's 160) and Daniel White, are to blame for the out come of the match. One wrestler worked harder and out wrestled ther other, and the out come showed it.

No matter if they were talking about Taylor Dixon or Chris Sinsheimer, both are outstanding young men. Dixon has numerous notable wins this season, as does Sinsheimer. I don't think it is fair to discredit their accomplishment even if this is a public message board. Dixon is 16-1 on the season with one loss coming from a kid from Alabama in OT. Sinsheimer has made some incredible improvement since late November and will be a very strong competitor all season. The entire Indy team is starting to click and I am just proud they are finally finding a way to win these close matches.

Please read the post completely before you comment. I never mentioned Daniel White or the 160 weight class. I believe at the Fall Brawl when the two wrestlers you mention wrestled that Taylor Dixon outwrestled Daniel White. That was good match and Taylor deserves all the credit for his win. My post is about the 152 pound match this past weekend at the Tull. Duals. Which contained neither Daniel or Taylor. I'm sorry if I offended you by somehow insinuating that Taylor didn't earn his win at the Fall Brawl. But again my post is in regards to the poor officiating and it's affect on the outcome of this PAST weekends 152lb match. And to continue to defend myself against your tirade the overton wrestler weighed in at 143 lbs and everyone was given a lbs allowance(hence the 10 lbs). Maybe the Indy wrestler was light to, but there was a good amount of weight given up. Indy is a strong program this year and i will enjoy seeing them continue to get better, but again I feel that the 152 lbs match would've had a different outcome had the refs forced him to wrestle and not continually back up and bail out everytime he got into trouble. And if you think I'm way off base with my comment about it being a rampant problem in MdTn read the whole Slamfest topic. 5 or 6 of the pages is about the poor officiating. Anything I missed?

It doesn't bother me when someone rides on one particular wrestlers bandwagon and I'm sure the wrestler doesn't mind the props all the time (getting his ego stroked constantly by one of his bros) but what I can't take is the excuses when he loses. And the wrestler probably doesn't want someone making excuses for him either.

Win win, great!!

lose lose, let it go!!

Ok. I am sorry about that. Bobcat was talking about Dixon and White's match so i though you just figured that Dixon wrestled at 152 because that is where White is ranked. And as for the 152 match between the Overton and Indy wrestler, i think you are a bit off base with you statement. I belive in the first period Indy's wrestler took a high crotch shot and took him down, not a result of backing up or running away. And when another wrestler takes a shot, are you not suppose to try and bail out and avoid getting taken down? I know thats what i was taught. Indy's wrestler took numerous shots through out the match. Alltought the officiating may have been poor, The indy wretler did get penolized for stalling in the first period, and not again after that. That is where the Overton wrestlers lone point came from. So the Indy did make that mistake of stalling, but was penolized for it.

reftn,

Glad to see you back and given your thoughts.

One question, is Bobcat related to Overton's 152 lb wrestler? All I hear him talk about is White from Overton. It seems from his coverage of Overton there there is noboby else on the team. They have other good wrestlers as well and will need them to win if they want to advance. You would think he would talk about them as well.

I'll concede that this argument isn't going anywhere. Obviously our views of what "aggressive" is, is totally different. But since i don't really have a horse in this race and the fact that it means nothing in the long run, I'll let it drop. These two wrestlers will probably never wrestle again this year or ever. So... yeah.... whatever. Congrats to Indy on the tourny win they wrestled hard and deserved it. Also i agree with the post either in this thread or on the acutal Tull. Duals that Region 6 is amazing this year. Anyone who makes it to state for team and indiv. is a stud!

Wrestling freak Daniel White didn't wrestle this past Saturday. He was playing in the East-West Allstar Game in Jefferson City. He was talking about the 152lb match between Indy and his replacement.

I apologize if I have offended anyone by bragging on Daniel White. He is family and so is Raymond White Overton's 189lbs who is also doing great. I will not post anything specifically about him the rest of the way. Overton has a great team this year and Eric Hancock at 112 is the only undefeated wrestler on the team. Lamarcus Armistead at 171 is another great wrestler that is getting overlooked. So, is Leo Hart at 119. Every team has strengh and weakness and its a toss up between Overton, Brentwood, Independence, and Franklin. Too bad at the end of the year and real great team will not make it to the State dual in Clarksville.

    • With Westview only losing one senior and returning Sims, they have to be one of the favorites in AA
    • Watched Westview at McKenzie Thursday and they surprised me. Without Evans (who was sick) and Brent (who had thumb surgery shortly after getting back from her ankle injury), they looked solid. I didn’t realize Gray from SF had transferred in. You have Sims, Gray, Brent, Trevathan, and Evans and that’s a solid 5. Then, you bring in Hayden and Rogers off the bench along with some other upcoming and they will be tough again this year!
    • Hmmmmmm doe dee doe doe……sounds like they are leaving Geenback faster than the lawnmower will go in fifth gear.  Hmmmm….. you can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • West looked solid...excited to see this young group excel
    • When you have a school that right at 200 kids only half are going to be male and to get 25% of them to come out for football is a very hard task. Take away an 8th grade syatem and your you have another hill to climb up. If 5 kids are actually leaving your not going to have enough for practice. Your only chances for wins would be against the weakest of weak teams. At one time Greenback had kids coming across the wall like the Mexican Border and now their leaving town before sundown. A hugh mistake was made on not hiring Ryan back because of his ties to the community and his ability to bring in the right kids, not run them off. The last coach failed because he wasn't one of community so they go out and do it again. I'm sure Coach Clemmer is a good person because I do know people that do like him but he is caught in the middle of a fan base that will not support him no matter what and it could lead to a disaster if that many kids are leaving the program. The person that caused all of this mess has no business on the school board and needs to stick with hiding in the bushes giving out speeding tickets to out of towners coming through.
