Big win by Central over DB last night. They are scary especially when their shots are dropping. Moody is a matchup problem for most people but especially DB. They may win the district next year. Third place in the district won't be an automatic win to the regionals. (Didn't Boone come from the 6th spot to knock out 3rd place DB last year?)

 

Speaking of districts, does anyone know how they are doing it this year? Does the winner (TN High) get a free pass to regionals again or do they face the 8-9 playin winner?

 

TN High held Caldwell to ONE point??? How many girls did they put on her? At least two if Stafford had 14.

They clogged the lane pretty good. Poor shot selection hurt, too. The referees shut her down pretty good, too, but they got a lot of people last night. Picked 'em off one by one. One referee called all four of my daughter's fouls, and even called a fifth one , until they explained to him that she was already out of the game. But don't be fooled. Michele Stafford has really come out of her shell, rebounding and scoring. A force to be reckoned with lately.

 

Any word from the Crockett / Volunteer game?

Dobyns-Bennett at Sullivan Central

 

The Lady Cougars can shoot, but I don't see them stopping D-B's post play.

 

Sullivan East at Sullivan South

 

South is stinging from the last second loss at home to Boone. They will take it out on East and prove they're not done.

 

David Crockett at Volunteer

 

Two tough teams that are tired of losing. Volunteer will feel a little better when this one's over. Volunteer wins.

 

Tennessee High at Daniel Boone

 

Daniel Boone has been hot lately and seem to improve toward the end of the season, but until someone can prove otherwise, The Lady Vikings are in control. TN High wins.

 

Saturday's game:

 

Cherokee at Science Hill

 

Cherokee is tough, and they have size over the Lady Toppers, but it's tough to win in that gym. SH wins.

 

 

Looks like I missed a couple this week.

 

Central upsets D-B, and Crockett gets the win over Volunteer.

Boone - Crockett game was not too close. Crockett kept it close for a little while, but by the third period, it was over. Caught up a little at the end, because Murr was gunning for her 1,000th point, and Boone had the freshmen in at the end. Boone, 53 - 36

Did Murr get her 1000 pt?

 

 

No. Still lacks 4 pt., I think.

 

When their coach saw the Boone freshmen go in, he put Murr back in to get some points.

 

Murr can now get her 1,00th pt at home Friday, vs. East.

 

Good game for Boone. Caldwell and Nickels get 14 each, and Michelle Stafford gets 13 rebounds.
