The pitcher from Claiborne was good but a little wild, I think Rutledge only had 5 hits, maybe the will get the bats goin better today, but a good start to have lost all those guys from last year, the Webster kid looked pretty good just coming out of baseball and I think the game just went 5 inn,but I might be wrong GC GRIZZLY

I have seen Webster throw and he could beat anybody in the district. He is the ace on the team and shouldnt give up many runs on a good night. The problem for Rutledge is they cant win when they cant score or when people hit webster they have to make the plays behind him. Graduating the whole outfield and the infield is a problem. Who can step up with little playing time before this year? Who will take Horsely, starbird, Dalton, and Kitts at the top of the line up? Many Q`s for the pioneers this year!

Bigtime you are correct I have the same questions, but those guys are gone now and hoping to have good college careers, not taking anything away from them but you got to replace guys every year , it was just abnormally more this past year, I mean the year before it was Nicley and Langly to replace who are both starters in college now, well anyways The Pioneer got their second win of the season today beating Claiborne 15-3 , who is the Frost kid looks like he pitched well.

We will find out some weeknesses or strengths tonight when the pioneers travel to Jeff Co. to face Jefferson at 5 and Cocke Co. at 730 in the Hardball classic , I am sure the level of competition will step up with them being a 3A school!!!

Some of the players the Pioneers will count on big this year are Zach Blanken, A.J. Frost, Jacob Trent, Brack Ballard, and of course Ryan Webster. They have some returning players that did not get much time last year, but they will get the opportunity to play and hopefully produce. If they don't, there are a few Freshmen and Sophomores that may get a chance to show their stuff before the year is over.

    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
