Leslie McDonald very impressive in today's win. Super efficient and had great throwdown on the baseline to boot. Drew Barham is a MM or maybe better D-1 player, 6'6 can shoot lights out and scored off the dribble as well. Not super quick but very long and can really stroke it. Gary Pope battled all night scoring close to 30, mostly on post moves.

CBHS has beaten Briarcrest 2/3....what will happen tomorrow? Briarcrest has pure talent advantage with McDonald, Wooten, Lee and Williams, but CBHS is extremely solid with a lot of solid players. The PG Martin is underrated. Good player.

Briarcrest will defeat CBHS tomorrow by 4-8 pts, and win the D2 State Championship.

I attended two of the three meetings (they split those) between these two teams. Either team could just have easily won both of those games. CBHS has the better perimeter game, but BCHS has the edge in transition, and a huge advantage in the paint. The difference in those games was clear and simple: When BCHS consistently utilized its big man, it won; When BCHS stopped going to its big man, CBHS won.

CBHS has deadly 3-point shooters, but has absolutely NO ANSWER for BCHS' big man. None!

Of course, Mr. Leslie McDonald will get his points. He's not THE key to a BCHS victory, though, believe it or not.

Since this game is for all the "marbles," I strongly suspect that Briarcrest's coach will make it a priority to get his big man the ball, early and often! As such, BCHS should pull out the biggest, most important victory over its arch rival, CBHS, in another exciting nail-biter.
