Explain the PUNCH that your pg #10 threw and landed on Lee, #20 for us during a scramble for a loose ball in the 4th. The call? Alternate possession.

Refs might make a three or four point difference in a game, but 21 points?? Come on. A lot of you upper plateau people really irk me. When you lose, it's never the region 3 team's skill or depth. It's the refs, or the gym. WIN YOUR REGION, and you can play at home next year. To deny the fact that fatigue contributed to your girls being out of position and therefore, fouling, is also asinine.

They way a lot of you upper midstate people act, you'd think someone from Livingston, Baxter, or Jamestown invented the game rather than Dr. Naismith.

CAN YOU READ we are not denying the girls talent it would have been a pretty evenly matched game and a great one to watch if the refs would have called it fair. and as for you taking shots at us from the plateau you better be careful we won't put up with a lot of your crap for too long... thats not a threat its a promise

Then stop acting like you invented the game. That's all I'm saying. To blame a 21 point drubbing on the officials is crazy. They stunk both ways. They were consistently inconsistent for both teams. We had three different players fouled flagrantly and there wasn't a call made.

It's the same every time an upper plateau team loses to an East Tennessee team. Upper midstate fans get on here and blame the officials, or the heat, or the gym. We do know how to play a little ball in East Tennessee, too.

This is in no way directed at every upper midstate fan. Many of them are knowledgeable and gracious.

Not threat, it's a promise???? Everybody's Rambo from behind a keyboard. Yet another example of losing with class.

OK you are right, we paid the refs 200 each . We are already working on financing a state championship!!!!

And here are my final comments on this basketball game to all McMinn Central fans

1. First of all, our fans were made to move and your fans constantly said terrible things to our players all night, vulgar things. THAT SHOWED ALOT OF CLASS.

2. Again, your girl fell to the floor while going up for the rebound just as ours was! And we could not get a foul called so by the 3rd quarter you can imagine how flustrated our girls felt. And let's not forget the charge that knocked our #10 down to the floor however we still managed to get the foul! And our girls do not use foul language so don't even try to insult our team that way.

3. Do you know what your boys say to the other team while they are on the floor? Please don't talk about class because they do not have any. If our girls heard it you know the refs heard it.

4. Okay, to all who was not at this game. Sometimes the refs can control the destiny of a game. I have never posted a comment on a ref until this game. I understand bad calls are called in every game but this was past the point of even given York a chance to stay in it and it does change the momentum of the game.

Good luck Livingston Monday - Beat McMinn!

And in final:

Your win was like Tennessee girls win against Rutgers! You know exactly what I mean.

Whatever. The refs gave us a 21 point win.

The difference in fouls can be narrowed down to this fact. Your team settled for jumpers most of the time in the second half while we drove the ball to the basket. The team attacking the hoop is inevitably going to get more opportunities at the free throw line. When York switched to mostly man in the second half, our quickness and the inevitable fatigue from York playing mostly five versus our rotation of 9 led to a lot of fouls on our drives to the basket. In any basketball game, there are going to be more fouls around the basket than on jumpers.

First of all I would like to say that the Chargerettes have had a great season and they would not have gotten as far as they have by riding on the coat tails of officials. The Dragonettes of York were simply outplayed last night. I do agree that there were questionable calls made on both sides and if the game had been decided by 2 points or even 10 points then a valid argument could have been made. This simply was not the case. The Dragonettes had MULTIPLE opportunities under the goal and chose to pass outside to their 3-point shooters (who were obviously struggling through a lot of the game). This shows a lack of depth and experience on both the team as well as their coach. As for the student section and cheerleaders being moved back and the two York boys who had to be escorted from the court by York teachers. . . more class could have been shown. At this point you should know that cheering is okay, but when vulgarities are being used (and they were), the officials try to get them under control. I will be at the state games and I hope that the Chargerettes continue to dominate and further the legacy of Central Basketball and Coach Morgan.

Are you saying that our cheerleaders were using "vulgarities?" My wife is the cheer coach and I dare you to say that our girls were saying bad stuff...don't be downing our girls and don't question our class. Class might be defined as following a sportsmanship creed you have posted in your own gym. Some of our fans may have been hot, but from what I hear, so were yours. Thats ball sometimes.

As for the continued attacks on our players...they are eliminated, they have moved on, they'll have motivation as a team for next year. No one has said you guys had a bad team. I said that this would be one of their hardest games of the year for York. It was a huge challenge and we did not get it done. Refs do not make a 21 point difference. The #10 and #32 that you guys have been talking about are good girls and they should not be bashed by a bunch of cowards hiding behind fictitous names. No need to be tossing out rumors of cheap shots, etc.

As far as this thread, SOME McMinn Central fans have made themselves look like a bunch of fools by starting a huge arguement by bringing up the officiating and the game when they could have just celebrated their team and the win. What is the point in rubbing this in Yorks face? Your just making yourselves look bad and wanting people to see your team get beat.

Good job York! We are very proud of you, Coach Storie, and your great season. McMinn was a good team and we have not once trashed any of your players. The refs stunk and your fans were terrible. A teenage boy walking by one of our 3rd grade kids said to her York s_____, the boy fans that the refs let stand under the goal all night said some really really bad things to the girls, and you guys are talking about our cheerleaders and pep club. There is a difference between cheering and having spirit and just not having class. Stop trashing our girls because we have not trashed yours. GOOD JOB YORK - WE OUR PROUD OF YOU!

Good luck Hogeye - Win big.

It was not an attempt to trash your girls. The facts are that #10 threw a punch at the York free throw line late in the fourth during a tied ball/altenate possession call. I was merely using that as a reference that the refs stunk both ways. It happened right in front of two officials. My reference to #32 was to point out that she flew hard into #22 for us on the rebound. The collision was so great that #22 landed on her face on the floor, but there wasn't a call. I wasn't using that to attack your players. I was merely illustrating the fact that the refs were inconsistent both ways. I thought #32 was your best all-around player, and I'd love to have her on my team. I'm sorry that you took this as an attack because that wasn't how it was meant.

Perhaps I shouldn't have taken the shot that the refs were the reason we won as an attack on our players either.

As far as our student section goes, they've embarrasssed me many times. There is no excuse for them to use vulgar language when yelling at your team, and for the most part, they lack creativity. In fact, I told them that storming the court was bush league. I was one of our fans who was pushing them back toward their seats. Please don't confuse the high school students with the adult fans. There are bad apples in every bunch. Every fanbase has a few who make them all look bad.

i say that I was behind the York's Cheerleaders. I did not see any of them doing anything wrong or trashing Central's players. I do think that your starting 5 matched up with us pretty well but what made the difference was the bench.. I was sitting with some of the York's parents and we talked about both teams all night. I do think that the ones that I sat with were very classy people. As for the players, hey,, this is a ballgame and they are trying to do what they can to win.. Not to say that both teams got away with some fouls but I thought it was a great ballgame till the starters started to get tired at the end. York has a great starting 5 and I wish them the best....

GO CENTRAL...

defense what defense your girls didnt play defense u shouldnt have been in the gym when york got out to a 5-0 lead and then the next trip down for mcminn they called 3 fouls in a row on york yes that was great defense . 22 york fouls in the second half to mcminns 5 fouls when you guys full court pressured i dont think so. Those 3 officials the 2 blacks ones were awful and the white one wasnt that great either where did u find those boys down the road in etowah, you probably did i wouldnt have cared if you would have beaten us by20 with it being officiated the correct way if them boys were the best officiating crew you boys have got then east tennessee officiating is so pitiful.Gatorbill u better be glad you hit that game winning shot against us in the region because if you would have had to endure what we did tonight upperman would have also lost by 20 them refs knew who was going to win that game before they ever stepped inside the gym tonight. Mcminn one last thing for your domination where was that full court pressure at tonight we were disappointed our girls run right through your full court presssure like it wasnt even there, oh and yes i just forgot you cant take those sorry officals with you to murfreesboro because they will probably not have a job after tonight anyways.....thanks for the 150 mile screwing because if we were going to get messed around like that we would have just stayed home.
