Brentwood vs Hendersonville

This is usually the best AAA matchup year in and year out. I am surprised no one has mentioned this game this week. Brentwood is rolling along and Hendersonville seems kind of suspect after losing to Mount Juliet and allowing 6 goals against Bearden. I know Hendersonville has good talent because they always do. Is this going to be a good game or will Brentwood win easily?

Yes big game but Coacht has died down this year. Not as much talk about the big games as in the past. I call Hendersonville with the upset 3-2

Brentwood is awfully good but they are human and beatable. Yet if they are going to lose this year, I don't think this will be the game. Gotta go with Brentwood 2-1.

I've seen both teams play a couple of times this year. Here's my stance: Brentwood's defense is brutal as their scores would indicate. However, they have some vulnerabilities. I've not been impressed with their accuracy. They control the ball well but should be scoring more - in some games my guess is that they pull back. Allowing a goal to Gallatin and only posting 3 goals is suspect so they can be beat. Couple that with the teams they've played, minus the out of state games and and it leaves you to wonder how good they are.

Hendersonville, on the other hand, does have a lot of talent but cannot seem to finish. This was the case last year with them as well, but they pulled it together when it counted - post season. Their defense has held up, even with some key losses in talent from last year, although some of the scores haven't indicated that. I saw the Bearden game and it was a monsoon. On top of that, Hville lost some key players to injury and they basically conceded the second half. I didn't see the Mount Juliet game but heard that had more than several chances to score but just couldn't finish.

IF Hendersonville finds their offense they will pull the upset tonight but will need at least 2 goals to do so and that against the Bruins stingy defense. If Hville stays the course of not finishing, it will be a long night for them.

Coming off the MJ loss, I'm going to lean toward motivation and say Hville pulls it off late 3-2.

details! Who scored? Any chances? Saves? Good/bad game? Dirty?

Probably one of the more civil games between these two teams...only about 3 cards - although one was a straight red against Hville late on what seemed like a retaliation. I thought both teams looked very evenly matched. It felt like the ball stayed in the Hville zone a bit more throughout the game but both defenses held up to their reputations and both keepers played well. Hville had a chance to tie late but just couldn't move the ball into scoring position. Brentwood had incredible ball control but their pushes got disrupted quite a bit and they rarely had a good shot on goal. There was an extremely good amount of talent on that field and both teams should do well in post season.

Yeah, I was surprised at how civil it was. Hendersonville did push Brentwood more than any other team I have seen them play this year, actually getting scoring opportunities.

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
