Region 2 5A Predictions

I like to follow this region, what is everybody predicting?

Based on the comments over the past couple of months

 

1. Ooltewah. Lot's of speed and talent depending on who you believe may or may not have QB problems. As long as they don't have the distractions of last year they should (not will) win the region and go far in the playoffs.

 

2. Farragut. Little has been written about them. Comments from their scrimage with Maryville it appears they have good lines on both sides of the ball. Unsure about the skill positions. Weakness could be linebacker and ball handling.

 

3. Oak Ridge. Lots of talent, but in-fighting could be a distraction. A couple of early big wins solves this problem and they could challange one and two.

 

4. McMinn. They have looked like they are ready to make the next step; however, the problem with the assistant coach resigning this week comes at a bad time. A distraction like this could cause early losses.

 

5. Blount. Lost a lot of seniors and then lost both starting QB's. Gardner has a lot of talent, but will he be worn out after a couple of games. Could take the number 4 spot if McMinn stumbles.

 

6. Soddy. New coach and it appears they may have more talent than the last couple of years. Don't have a lot of info to go on.

 

7/8 Bradley or Heritage. Who knows. It's a shame that neither one of these can't seem to get any better.
