Does any one know what happened to Derrick Lucas, He was a running back for Greenbrier a few yrs back he won a Mr. Football award in his senior yr i think. ???

I was able to find out a little bit of information about Derrick for you. Derrick won Mr. Football his Junior year at Greenbrier High School in 1994. He was injured most of his Senior year, but received a full athletic scholarship to Anderson University in Anderson Indiana. He was redshirted his freshman year. He played for AU the next 4 years, receiving Player of the Year Award twice. From what I understand Derrick received his degree, got married, and is now persuing a teaching career.

 

For those of you who didn't know Derrick, he was deaf. Derrick is now teaching at a school for the hearing impaired.

 

Greenbrier is proud of Derrick and wish him well in life.

Derrick Lucas was a great player. Tough. I know well. Played him his Jr & Sr years. Great gut that overcame many obstacles. I wish him well in his future plans. Where is he teaching? Is he coaching? He should be. All of us from Trousdale Co. on those 94' and 95' teams respected him.
