Congrats to the Trojans, They did whatever it took to win a football game last night and got what they deserved. A ver good victory. Honestly the game came down to athletes. Carter was a beast. Easily one of...if not the best RB in Memphis and a Mr. Football finalist. What they did to him in the second half was amazing. Sheffield give him amost every play in the first half, and he got his yards. It says a lot about a team when you down 9 points going into the second half and a RB has put up 121 in one half on you, you turn and hand him 11 yards in the most important half and turn them into a despration team. Sheffield keyed in on Xavier Taylor, but that didn't stop him fromreeling off a huge TD in a clutch moment and being effective when needed. Jason Click ran the ball very well and was perfect in the air. The fact that Sheffield spent som much time trying to limit Taylor opened other plays that I think at times weren't capitialized on. But it got the job done. Counce got really conservative late in the 4th that allowed Sheffield an opprunity to get back in to the game, but the offense came out after Sheffield's late TD and shut it down. I know I am breaking the game down a little more then needed but I want to do that to say this.....I was very impressed by the Defenses adjustments at half to make the game a completely different game. The came out of half like a completely different team. I still don't think they played their best. There was no turnovers by either team. Dyersburg this year is a team taht is still going to be hitting you in the 4th quarter, the offense is a lot more balance then I can remember. They can run very well, they can pass pretty well, I have no great confidence in this team going straight to state. Its not like that, but I will say that I believe that if the offense is clicking, and stays balanced. If it has a night or two with minor mistake, like penatalites, and the defense plays well, The offense plays to full poternial, If they play great football, I wouldn't be suprised by anything. This is one of the first years the whole offense is effective. I know weve had great athletes the last few years, but this year the team has a different swagger. Ive seen them be very stagnet at times and critized them after the DC game becuz I didn't see one drive that really impressed me,but I dnoticed their ablity to get first downs in any fashion. The have great FBs and RBs, aQB that can run and pass, and TEs and WRs that cfan catch for first downs. And when you throw in Whitfield who has made plays all year. I really think if this offense has a game where the balance if perfecft and the offense is clicking. They can suprise a few teams................Good win D'burg, Its going to only get tougher, but if you ban together and reach down deep anything is possible,,,GO GET IT

Don't forget the O-line that everybody thought would be a big weakness!! Great running and passing and TD records don't happen if it doesn't get done up front.

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
