chattdaddy
This was a great match to watch 2 programs with great coaches going at each other. Penn State won in 3 games over Stanford. Penn State didn't lose a match this whole season. They only lost 2 sets or games the whole year as well (114-2). This was voted the best college volleyball team ever. The one thing most people might not know was they also had one of the biggest delays in a National Championship game. The score keeper missed a point somewhere around 18-17 in set #2. I know I had seen the down official before and I found out he was Paul Albright who is the vice president of the Southern Region volleyball and he was apart of this long delay on national TV. He is usually the one running our regional Tournaments in Club. It was just funny watching him talk with these 2 great coaches (that were not happy about the delay) , the R1, and the score keeper while the TV zoomed in on him. The ref team still did a great job despite the long delay. Maybe we can get some of our HS ref's to do this match next year. LOL

LOL Just goes to show that the scoring thing happens even at the biggest events. They did have the score wrong and in fact, Penn State had to win 2 extra points to win the set. The crowd, however, didn't have to yell "SCORE" but did chant the correction which should have been 21-19. Instead the corrected score read 20-19. Just to show the ball doesn't lie, Penn State won the set anyway.
