Eddie
Friendship Christian senior post player Lauren Macpherson will sign an NAIA national letter of intent and scholarship papers with Freed Hardeman University September 6. Macpherson, 6-1, was the top scorer for the Lady Commanders during the 2001-2002 season as a junior and helped her team reach the TSSAA Class A state tournament for the first time. Freed Hardeman went 24-7 last season and 10-4 in the TranSouth Conference under the direction of veteran coach Dale Neal.
gogold
What kind of post player is Macpherson? Is she big enough and strong enough to go up against the big posts in the NAIA conference? I sure hope so, because they'll need some post players. They are limited at the post position at Freed-Hardeman this year. I'm sure Coach Neal is thrilled to get this one and maybe 1 or 2 more in this up and coming class of 2003. mortimer
gogold, you asked if she was big enough and strong enough? I believe she is, and with some experience at the college level she will be an asset to the program. If she is still working as hard as she was in years past, her work ethic will pay off. She is a scoring threat inside and out, she can handle the basketball in the backcourt and frontcourt, and she can play perimeter defense better than most girls her size. I think she will need some fine-tuning, but I definately think the Lady Lions have found a hard working player in MacPherson. Good luck, Lauren! Guest wangdang
Lauren seems to be struggling this year. I don't know if it is because she signed, and feels she has no reason or if it is the coaching change.
