socceraddict
Wow, just thinking about last year's "Mud Bowl" makes me cringe. After last year's Tournament we roled the field, then put 3 truck loads of sand on the field and reseeded 400 lbs of Winter Rye. We were able to play on it after about 14 days, but it was never the same. We will try and get as many games in, but we can't ruin the field like we did last year. Time will tell... Based on how much rain we've already had and the forecast for the next couple of days, how many games do you think will get played?

PHILLIPS
Unfortunately we had to cancel the tournament. Too much rain! First we were told we couldn't use the football field this morning, then I checked the soccer fields and the practice field looked like a lake (it doesn't drain well). So... Dobyns-Bennett drove all the way (5 hours!) so Independence played DB on Friday night. Conditions weren't terrible, but the field wasn't going to hold up for 3 more games (as originally scheduled). Well played game by both teams, considering the wet field conditions. Indy won 4 - 2.

PHILLIPS
Here is the schedule that we threw together to salvage the Tournament. Since some of the teams are within a 15 minute distance we're all trying to get at least one game in each (and get Dobyns-Bennett a full schedule since they traveled so far.) FRIDAY - played at Independence 7:00pm -- Independence vs. Dobyns-Bennett (Indy won 4 - 2) SATURDAY - played at Columbia 6:00pm -- Columbia vs. Dobyns-Bennett (DB won 1 - 0) SUNDAY - played at Independence 10:00am -- Dobyns-Bennett vs. Franklin (Tie 1 - 1) Noon -- Columbia vs. Independence (Indy won 4 - 0) 2:00pm -- Centennial vs. Dobyns-Bennett Free admission if anyone wants to come out!
