Way to go Football1734, you really stoked up a fire on this thread, which I believe this was your intent all along. Since you only had 4 posts prior to starting this thread, I believe you have another account and this was set up just for provocation.

You sure do have a lot of info on TL. I've known him quite a while and did not know he only played two weeks of spring ball at CC (if thats accurate). I believe you know more than your posts reflect.

Good one.

Coach Lambert is a great coach and a great man. He will do a great job

and Anderson County is lucky to have him. I would trust the man with my life.

Good luck to the Mavs in the future.

Sure he is a great man. i have never met him. im just saying a lot of people quit there blue collar job

and start coaching maybe he has watched alot of NFL or college games and learnd from there.

But he didnt learn it out on the pratice field with pads on in 95 degree weather busting his butt

Lets just Say TL. took the easy route. and leave it at that. and if you can say diffrent

shoot the gas to it.

You seem to know a lot about Coach Lambert, but yet you really don't if you believe these things you are saying. I know him almost as well as anyone. Coach Lambert has never taken the easy way on anything. Whatever his previous experiences in football, I can tell you he is one heck of a coach. Larry Kerr put the defense at AC in his hands in 97 and he ran it till he left in 04. He worked, he motivated, and he earned the respect of not only the other coaches on the staff, but coaches from programs all across the state of Tennessee. Call Coaches Kerr, Rankin, Pemberton, Daniels, Coatney, Courtney or any other well respected coach in the state and ask them about him. Call up any former player and ask them how they would run through a wall for him. Ten minutes with him and you would be sold on the man. If you really have a kid who wants to play football for an outstanding coach, you won't look back. That's a promise.

Oskie. this post was to reflect on a legend Coach Kerr. I was just saying it would be hard for a kid knowing he was going to be pushed from a Coach that never went threw 2 a days never went threw 95 degree practice's.

Yes TL. might even make a good Basketball coach or Tennis Coach im sure he never sweated in practice on those sports either. Lets just call him the wonder coach. the Coach that that can do all that never put the time and effert in sposrts in middle school.high school or college but is willing to push your kid.

Yes i guess i have great respect now for him i just didnt know how little he had gave to the sport of football

other than working under kerr and now fellin in his shoes. i think TL should all ready be coach of the year as well

but i would still like to see some Film on his 2 weeks of spring training at cumberland and from what i heard he was 26 years old when he dicided to walk on.

Ahh.....but he did play. Call another well respected east tennessee coaching legend....Jack Diggs, former Scott Co. coach and he'll tell you what kind of player Coach Lambert was.

futbolfan.. yes im sure he will work them hard. my problem he wants them to bust there butt

and everyone knows when he was there age he didnt. like 1 year of JV and at the age of 25-27

he dicicded to walk on to Cumberland College and practiced 2-3 weeks and quit.

So im sure anyone can make a kid work hard and if he can find some talent coaches to come along

but most dont want to work under a coach they fill they are more quilified and paid there dues

he just getting a easy break filling in kerrs shoes.

so the point im making he never worked hard and that is what he is standing on that he will work

kids hard.

So what he is basing his coaching on " I didnt practice when i was 15 years old but i make sure the boys do.

Obviously you have strong feelings on the subject. I also happen to know that the two were looking each other in the eye today. I guess we will have to disagree. Have a nice day!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
