Indian
Class A INF - Casey Scarlett, Jr., Stone Memorial, .420 BA, 9 RBI, .909 fielding percentage Stone is Class AA, this probably booted someone off the Class A team. I'm really surprised none from Chattanooga Christian made it in AA, and that Soddy-Daisy's pitcher didn't make it in AAA. I'm surprised the 3B from here didn't make it after hitting well again, recording a 1.000 fielding percentage and being voted the area player of the year (SE TN outside Chattanooga) but at least one made it and was deservingly so. 00FANUC
Are you sure these stats are correct? I saw several that looked awful fishy....
Indian
The Chattanooga area stats look about like what I remember in the all-city and all-area lists. They were turned in by coaches/scorekeepers and likely were everywhere else. If there's fudging involved the writers just have to go by what they have. statman3
2008: P - "Rodney Dangerfield", Jr., Cherokee, 37-11, 28 Shutouts, 420 K, 0.57 ERA, .309 BA, 6 HR's, 4th place TSSAA State AAA 2009: P - "Rodney Dangerfield", Sr., Cherokee, 26-8, 18 Shutouts, 389 K, 0.44 ERA Career: P - "Rodney Dangerfield", Cherokee, 89-32, 56 Shutouts, 18 No-hitters, 1,129 K, .65 ERA NEVER RECOGNIZED BY THE TSWA! I used to think that the only thing holding girls off of this from Region 1 was a top finish in the state tournament. In 2008, Mrs. Dangerfield was the only pitcher out of 14 total pitchers making it to the final four in the tssaa tournament to not make this list. In other words 13 of 14 Division I pitchers who toed the rubber in the state tournament for a team that finished in the top 4 made this list. Mrs. Dangerfield is not alone....there are many other Region 1 softball athletes that simply aren't getting a fair shake in this selection process. Only region 1 representation on this list is 3 from Unicoi in AA and 2 from North Greene in A. They are very deserving, but something is broken in this process. ranger215
something is very wrong with this; soddy daisy finished with 39-4 record in AAA a pitcher who was player of the year in chattanooga ; and did not have anyone on the list . pedo_29
???2008 All-State Is this the true list out or your prediction? How could they forget Brooke Thomas single A pitcher?????????? That is the TSWA list. There was a name on there in the wrong category, that usually happens when the list first comes out then it is corrected. As far as the players not included, it's really a matter of either making it to a big stage where a lot of writers's can see, or coaches marketing their players, mailing out stats to TSWA members and such. pedo_29
Where did the official stats come from because Cheyanne Knepper was 33-3-1 and her ERA was 0.44, 21 shut outs Stats usually come from the coach. Sometimes from the writer that covers that team if he/she is a TSWA member.
