Summer Soccer Camps

Recommended Posts

My daughter recently attended a Women's Soccer camp in Ohio, but we were somewhat disappointed in the competition. Does anyone here have suggestions for a competitive soccer camp for U12 girls? We would like to stay in the southeast.

Actually, UT runs a nice camp. Competition is stronger some years than others, but the facilities are great and in Coach Kelly you get a coach who certainly knows about winning and competing. Many of the players are there and at your daughter's age she will get to mix it up with them.

I think any of the college camps would be a good choice. Also the coaching will be done mostly by the college players, not the head coach. This also depends on how serious your daughter is about soccer and whether at this time she knows if she wants to play at the highest levels of club and eventually in college. For all the + and - , ODP involvement gives a lot of exposure. Then the ODP camps are essential and have a lot of good coaching. At age 12 coaching is more important than competition.

Yes, I know Coach Kelly and my daughter attended the day camps for three years. Our daughter always enjoyed herself and it helped that we already knew some of the student-athletes working the camp. Some of the parents in our club were not positive about the camp. It's all about personal experience and personal agendas. Thanks for your input.

My daughter attended Auburn camp as a U12 and the UGA camp as a U13 and U14. The UGA camp was very well run from check-in to check-out. Not much down time, and the soccer instruction was terrific (according to my daughter).

Thanks we will look into the UGA camp.
