Question on tournament schedule

Is there a solid reason why they have the conso championships at noon, and the finals aren't until 6 that night?

 

To me, I would think that it would be easier on everyone, especially the wrestlers, to have the finals start around 3. That would give a nice break between the consolations, and the finals. But still allow people to get out of there at a decent time. Pretty tough for an entire team to have to sit around that much longer, and gets dangerous for those of us that have to drive back that night.

 

Just a thought.

I agree 100%. Several people were talking about this last night. They wanted to know who they should contact about this, I suggested TSSAA.org, hope everyone does and maybe they will change it!

I think with it being the first year at this venue that wanted to make sure had enough time. And next year they now know they had excess time between conso finals and finals. I think it would be best to not have time to leave because there was a wreck on I-65 S and McCallie bout didnt make it to Parade of Champions on time.

They had a big break at UTC, but I don't think it was 5 hours. UCT would make everyone leave. Gotta have that extra dollar.

Love being able to bring drinks and food in for the wrestlers, hope they don't change that.

I agree, in many aspects the change to the new venue is great. More central to everyone in the state. Plenty of space to sit, etc.

 

Only real issue I had, other than the big long breaks, was the fact that the two divisions are so far apart. Makes it really hard to watch all the wrestling, but besides that, the change is nice.

Did have to say this. Not sure how everyone feels about it, but as I was going in on Saturday, I overheard this one guy going off on the parking attendent about the $5 charge for parking. The poor guy was like "sir, I just help park the cars, it's not my decision".

 

I was just sitting there thinking, good god. It's $5, and dang I paid that every year to park in the garage at UTC. So what's the deal. PLUS, it's not the parking guy's fault. Why go off on the guy?
