It looked as though there were 8 year olds fighting each other at one of the recent bouts...is that legal??

FILA/USAW allows submission grappling all the way down to Novice class which is 12 yrs of age. There is a pretty strict set of rules on what submissions are allowed and what is illegal. There isnt anything allowed around neck (crusifixes, can openers) pressure or ankle locks (heel hooks). Hey thanks CoachTrick. I was completely baffled when I saw the youngsters out there, but I'm rather new to the MMA business and I enjoy seeing the sport offered at a young age, with strict rules.
