Rules Changes

I thought that I had finally understood the rules of soccer, until today.

Three handballs inside the box plus two handballs outside the box no longer constitutes a penalty kick nor free kicks, provided that the handball was not intentional!

The use of ones posterior and hands above the waist is now acceptable to move/block an opponent!

At the end of a 1 to 1 tie the Greenbrier coach made it a point to shake the refs' hand. I think he owes them a lot more than a simple handshake!

They should be ashamed of themselves.

i think that new rule stinks. basically a player has to catch the ball for it to be a hand ball. i think it should be if it gives the other team an advantage they should call it. its always been acceptable in higher level soccer to use arms to block/move an opponent. was this a highschool girls game u were watching?

One of the handballs occurred when the girl actually slapped the ball away from the post, chest high! But it wasn't intentional according to the "official".

Yes it was a high school game and these were forearms to the back along with tripping. It was absolutely incredible! At no time did Greenbrier make contact with the ball, hmph they weren't even trying too!

It was a very poorly officiated game. I guess I will start taking my camcorder to the games, and report these rascals!
