HS Showcase

2011, 2012, & 2013 HS Graduates are invited to a showcase being held at Roane State College in Harriman, TN, Saturday July 10-11. This is an outstanding opportunity for HS player's that have the desire to play at the next level to be evaluated by numerous college coaches and pro scouts. Players will participate in an extended pro-style workout session on Saturday and play 2 organized games on Sunday.

 

Early entry fee is $125 if rec'd by June 30, 2010

Late entry fee is $150 rec'd after June 30, 2010

 

Limited to the first 100 players registered.

 

Players will receive:

Exposure to college/pro scouts

Game Jersey

CD of showcase skills evaluation

Getting great responses for this showcase, so far. In less than a week's time we've had several inquiries, and have rec'd 31 entries. At this rate we will fill up quickly. Don't get left out!

I am, along with the RS baseball staff. Below is the format for each day we will be following.

 

WHERE: ROANE STATE COLLEGE

HARRIMAN, TN

 

 

DAY 1 FORMAT/SCHEDULE:

Pitchers and Catchers: 8:30am-Noon

Pitchers Bullpen

Catchers Pop Times

60 yard timed run

Batting Practice

 

Infielders and Outfielders: 1pm-5pm

Infield Position skills

Outfield Position skills

60 yard timed run

Batting Practice (pitchers/catchers excluded)

 

 

DAY 2 FORMAT/SCHEDULE:

 

Players will be assigned a team.

Beginning at 9am.

Games- each team will play 2 games with a 1hr 15 min time limit

 

Game Rules:

-All games will be a controlled (5) batters to the plate per each half inning. If 3 outs are recorded, bases will be cleared.

-In case of hit by pitch, same batter stays in box and starts a new “at bat” with a 1-1 count

-All games will be played with a 1 out scenario

-Lineups are preset to give each player equal amount of playing time

-Batting order is rolling, game 2 will pick up where game 1 ends for each team

-Players will be placed in their primary or secondary position on defense

-Umpires will be used to call balls, strikes, and outs

Defensive Evaluation:

Outfielders: 2ea throws to 2nd, 3rd, and home plate

Infielders: 2ea fielded at you, 2ea glove side, 2ea backhand, 1ea slow roller

Pitchers: 15ea pitches (8 fastballs, 3 change-ups, 2 sliders, 2 “other”)

Catchers: 6ea catch/throw to 2nd

 

Offensive Evaluation:

8ea swings- 2 rounds

 

Showcase players receive:

Exposure to college/pro scouts

Game Jersey

CD of showcase skills evaluation

Andy Haines with the Florida Marlins will host his 2nd Annual Pro/College showcase at Station Camp HS in early October... Cost is $60/player and there is a maximum of 40 players that will be allowed to attend...There will be more information and postings once its closer to the showcase. Last year's showcase produced 7 players that signed to play college baseball.
