This is typical papatiger moronic thinking. Blame the refs, real classy. That's teaching those young men responsibility and accountability by blaming someone else. Next, going for two up 33-0. While I don't think running up the score is very classy, in this case my gut says they were trying to reach the mercy rule score so the clock would run and the game could get over faster (avoid injuries, etc.) And finally, after two onside kicks in the 4th qtr when you were down by more than would be possible to come back from, I wouldn't blame anybody for trying to score again on you.

Your 3-2 record is a farce. Hickman Co rushed for almost 500 yards on you but had a bad case of fumbilitis. Then you beat perennial cupcake Houston Co. Next a loss to somehow stinking it up Creekwood, who by the way has only beaten you and Harpeth (and been blown out by trick play specialist Fairview). Then a win over a team that barely has enough to line up at practice. So I wouldn't wear my arm out patting myself on the back just yet.

That's what we get every week, we've just been lucky I guess. By the way, when that Ref picked that ball up, he actually moved it backwards(our fans were livid). No one can accept the fact that we're pretty good, when we beat them the excuses fly. Oh well, we're 4-0, I hope the luck continues.

Sorry that you see it that way. Didn't say your guys was lucky but the fact that there were extinuating circumstances other than talent that made the score that way. I did say Waverly wasn't very focused. But one can't argue the referees. Photographer on sideline was asked to leave field on the movement of football when he stated he had a picture of where the ball should have been, one yard back not forward. Also didn't mention that with the score 35-12 and 9:25 and Riverside on their heels from a second recovered onside kick that the clock kept running and taking 25 seconds off clock on change of possessions. Wouldn't have mattered but could have. Yes I said a little above average. These two teams could play 10 times and Waverly would win 8 of them. You will see that Riverside won't make a dent in the playoffs.

I agree the Hickman County game was terrible for Waverly even though they won. Kind of like the game last night, Waverly shouldn't have won against HC but not sure against Riverside. Yes the cheerleaders could beat Houston County but the Creek Wood loss. Look at the Creek Wood posts. That is the only game they had all of their main players and Waverly still almost won. Against Fairview the qb got hurt on first play, their rb and wr was out. Waverly isn't state champion material but I haven't seen anyone we've played yet close either.

So basically, other than your team playing bad, the refs giving away for you and the interference call, you woulda been able to recover from getting whipped? PapaT this is sooooooo typical of you. Why can't you just once look at the product on the field and realize your boys just ain't that good?

Not saying we wouldn't have lost but it had a huge impact on the game. Waverly has a good team not state champion material, but better than Riverside. You take two main lineman including the center out and it affects blocking when you plug two young guys in with a lot less size. The interference call gives Waverly the ball deep in Riverside territory and trailing 12-0. Could have changed momentum. Not going into other calls, look on my other posts. Riverside played a lot better than Waverly in first half, Waverly played a lot better in second half. Before you say anything, starters for both teams played the whole game.

Papatiger,

Waverly got whipped. 35-12 is not referees, nor is it missing 2 lineman. 35-12 is getting beat by a better team. I'm not a Riverside person, either. But, facts are facts...even when they sting and hurt.

Yes, Waverly had two lineman who did NOT play last night. Coble was out with a MCL sprain and Cunningham was out with an infected knee. Coble is the center and Cunningham the guard. Where you at the game?

Seriously you aren't convincing anybody with your sob story. Quit making excuses the game is over and you got your tail whipped. Riverside is and was the better team last night and Waverly now knows that. It is people like you that can't admit a good win for the opponent or not make excuses that ruins talking on message boards. You make me laugh saying that Waverly would beat riverside 8 out of 10 times, plain and simple you lost and should stop being a sore loser.

Waverly lost, yes no doubt. you never answered, Where you there? If not you don't know the circumstances. Just like the score of the UT game last week was not indicative of how close that game was last week.

Yes but the only difference is Tennessee was actually in the game 13-13 at the half. Waverly was never in the game last night they were down 14-0 five minutes into the game. Quit making excuses waverly is an average team at best.
