Legendary East TN coach snubs opposing team....

As the final minutes of last night's Polk/Sequoyah game ran off the clock, Polk's Freshmen and Sophomores were steadily marching down the field to the Sequoyah endzone. Polk County had stifled the Chiefs all night, giving up only a single first down in the first half while building up a 34-0 lead at intermission. This continued into the 2nd half as Sequoyah's final statistics read only 49 yards of offense. Polk scored early in the 2nd half to go up 40-0, then proceeded to sub-in underclassmen.

It could have been much worse.

This was evident by Polk Co's coaching staff calling for their back-up to the back-up QB taking a knee on 4 straight plays inside the Chief 5, as the last 1:30 rolled off the clock. Some call that gesture common courtesy. As the game ended and both teams and coaches poured onto the field to extend a hand in the name of sportsmanship, it was fairly evident that someone was missing. That person was Chiefs coach, Bill Satterfield.

Not only did Satterfield refuse to shake hands, multiple times at the conclusion of the game he was heard using the term "classless" very liberally when describing Polk County.

Calling off the dogs early on a clearly out matched opponent is....... Classless?!??

Funny use of words by a man that won't even set a good example to his team by joinging them in shaking the opposing teams hand at games end....

While we're on the subject....

Wasn't it just a few weeks ago when Satterfield had his starters in late, winning big, at home against winless McMinn Central throwing into the endzone????

Show some class, coach.
