Can anyone give me information on Jeremy Umphries. I was told he wrestled in Memphis many years ago and is currently ranked in USA Grappling. How did he get into this if grappling not around the Memphis area? I am interested in this. How long has he been doing this.

Umphries was wrestling around the same time I was in Memphis, late 1990's / early 2000's. He was at Houston High School, I believe he was a couple of time state medalist in the lower weights. I think he made the state finals once. I am willing to bet it is on the Houston High School website.

 

I can't really talk to how he got active in MMA, etc. I know there are many gymns around the Memphis area where people currently train MMA / BJJ.
