Once in a great while we come across a story in our state that inspires everyone. To be inspired you must be able to transcend not just the divisions in our sport but ALL sports. This story truly is inspirational to anyone who thinks they work hard enough at any sport and that giving anything less than 100% is acceptable. Matthew Cilimberg is a model of courage, fortitude, indomitable spirit, determination, and in the end, wisdom.

Please watch the live broadcast of the story Sunday December 19th at 10:30 PM. If you are in a region that does not get WKRN Channel 2 (Nashville) I will be post the link to the story Tuesday so everyone else can view the news cast.

If you are at a tournament that Franklin is at, be sure to take notice of Matthew at 135. He is a testament to all we hope for our youth.

Matthew Cilimberg is a senior at Franklin HS in Franklin TN. He has been accepted at and will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall of 2011.

Franklin is just full of inspiration! Two years ago they had a kid named John Shrader who had brain surgery, came back afterwards and took fourth in state! Both are great kids.

I was just informed about that by Chris Woods yesterday morning while discussing Matthew. I have known John for just over a year now and no one ever mentioned it. I'm bringing that story to News Channel 2 as an "in addition to" story. After talking Jonathon yesterday about it he informed me that he had the surgery when he was in 8th grade and he is now a Junior of course. And yes its also an amazing story. The operation was on his brain stem and its unbelievable that he is even on a mat...
