Hard fought game,Lavergne started strong controlling the first 20 miniutes, Blackman took the lead on a great goal from inside the box.Lavergne responded on a nice header on a set piece before the half. The game was phyisical at the start of the second half, then with about 10 minutes left Blackman scored on a brilliant header from a corner kick. Blackman had several other great scoring chances, espically on set pieces hitting 3 post. Blackmans defense held Lavergne in check after the second goal. Lavergne was frustrated and recieved several yellow cards late in the game.

Wow! A very solid start for 7AAA! This is currently the only district in the state (AAA) where no team top-to-bottom has a losing record. I previously underestimated the talent of Blackman and Smyrna, and it is clear Siegel has played a bear of a schedule so far.

 

Records are currently as follows...

 

Riverdale 5-0-1 .917 (1-0 7AAA)

Blackman 7-2-1 .750 (1-1 7AAA)

Smyrna 3-1-2 .667

Oakland 1-0-2 .667

LaVergne 2-1-2 .600 (0-1 7AAA)

Siegel 4-4-0 .500

 

This is the most balanced this district has been in years.

If this was any sort of rank, it would be pretty irrelevant. In comparison to schedules, Siegel and Riverdale are really the only two that can talk.

I heard Riverdale won 1-0 against Smyrna. That is a great score for Smyrna. They could be alot better than expected and help create alot of chaos in an already tight district

The Lavergne/Riverdale game was a good hard fought match. Lavergne scored first on a nice shot from inside the box, I believe off a set piece. Riverdale responded with the next 2 goals, and looked to have the momentum and game in hand, until a keeper error. The keeper went after the ball in the box and didnt get control and Lavergne midfielder chipped it over him for the tying goal. Both teams had several good chances as the game was ending.
