McMinn Central Maniac
Howard has forfeited the game. There was a bench-clearing brawl after their loss to Brainerd on Monday. As a result of the multiple suspensions, they forfeited. Now the boys game between Howard and McMinn Central that was moved to Friday will be played at 7pm EST instead of 7:30 EST. Neither of these schools seem to understand that......including most of their fans I've been around at games.
Indian
http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_195391.asp Neither team will be allowed to play in this week's region tournament and the suspension carries over to next year as well where there will be no post-season participation... "We are appealing the ruling. We still have some information to provide, but I'm not sure all the evidence was considered," replied Howard's Jimmy Seymour. IMO extending the punishment into next year is too much. Also, without being at the game where this happened or seeing film, there is no way to judge whether the punishments are justified. soufpaw
The punishment for the two teams was a bit stiff. Taking away post season play for next year too come on. The two girls that started the brawl should have been suspended for the year but dont punish the whole team for two players and these players are not even Sr's so both will be back next season so it wont effect them as much as it will the Seniors on the two teams.
