who's the favorite in this district.

I'd say Nashville Christian, East Robertson and Clarksville Academy will be in contention. If forced to pick a favorite, I'd go with NCS. Last year CA won the district, and NCS took the district tournament, with both advancing to region. NCS returns almost everyone as I recall. CA lost 4 starters, but was deep last year, and has a very strong Junior class, ER was a very solid team last year, returns many players, and has a new coach to boot, I believe. I would expect those three to be in the mix, with WH-H a darkhorse.

However, I think the district is going to require the teams to suit up and play so it gets decided on the field! Everybody in 10-A is 0-0 with a chance to win it. Looking forward to a fun season.

Not a bad forecast! NCS won regular season and Clarksville Academy was second. CA won the 10-A tournament, NCS was runner-up, and East Robertson was the last team eliminated before the finals.

Best of luck to NCS at region. We're looking forward to hosting Cascade Monday at Clarksville Academy.

You guys will see Carkuff. He throws high 80's low 90's. What do you guys have.

Our pitchers mix it up well, and their styles vary. There's no telling who we'll pitch, as our rotation has changed as the year has progressed. We don't hit a lot of long balls, but neither does anyone else at our place....the blue monster is a formidable foe. But we have been a good hitting team this year. We hit a bit of a rough patch in the middle of the season when 2 of our starters, both pitchers, suffered injuries and were out for a few weeks. They are both back now, and we are playing pretty good baseball. Ya'll scouted our championship game with NCS Thursday, so I'm sure that your coaches will have the team prepared.

I know you all will bring a great team to Clarksville, and I am looking forward to seeing a good game. Perhaps we will meet at the game.

What can you tell me about NCS's number 1. I have heard he can hit close to 90 but can be a bit wild? Any info on them. I know we played them last year and they had some superb outfielders.

I would guess that's 12, Cody Hartley. He throws hard, but I wouldn't say he is wild - at least he hasn't been against us. We faced him Tuesday, and he walked 2, struck out 11, and gave up 9 hits to us in 6 1/3 innings. He beat us at the plate Wednesday with a 3 run homer, and beat us at the plate in last year's district tournament with a home run as well. He is a good pitcher for sure. But he is a great hitter, and he is fast. He was the district regular season MVP.

I was really impressed with the performance of CA's Brian Conn. He's very difficult to hit. I understand that he had never pitched before a few weeks ago and he held NCS to 2 hits and was the tournament MVP. Not fast, but difficult to hit, especially his curve.

Hope you guys have plenty of Hot Chocolate tonight. Should be a pitchers game with the weather. Good luck to all and hope for a injury free game.

A pitchers' game it was. 3 hits total (2 for CA, 1 or zero for Cascade depending on scorekeeper), Karcuff struck out 8 for Cascade, Thompson struck out 10 for CA. Great pitchers duel. Congratulations Cascade, and good luck from here on out!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
