"It is difficult to put into words what coach Logdson has meant in my life, said current Bradley assistant coach Ben Smith.

"He has been a second father to me and has been a great example of to life a moral life and how to build good relationships with your wrestlers."

Logsdon won a state title in 1984 as a senior at Bradley Central and became head coach in 1991.

"Steve felt it was time to step down and he knows the program is left in good hands," said Bradley Central athletics director Turner Jackson.

Smith and Adam Raines will stay on as full time assistant coaches.

Logsdon He was head coach for 14 years, then stepped aside as Chad Laxton was head coach for two seasons (2006, 2007) and has been the head coach for the past five seasons.

"Steve is right up there with the best of them in terms of motivating wrestlers and having the ability to get a team cranked up for a big match," said Soddy Daisy head coach Steve Henry.

"Turner Jackson laid the foundation for a strong Bradley Central wrestling program in the 1980s and Steve then took that program to another level," stated Henry.

"It will be business as usual as we go back to work on Monday with our off-season conditioning and weight training program," said Smith.

"It will be difficult without Coach Logsdon and he will be missed, but we will continue to work hard and carry on the great Bradley Central wrestling tradition."
