I will have to defer to Sparky this year. My daughter decided not to play to pursue other interests, so I will not be at the park as often. They should be pretty good. Kadey Robinson (P), Kelsey Mains(CF), and Rikki Pritchard© graduated and replacing your top pitcher, catcher, and centerfielder is always a challenge. Amanda Schultz and freshman Lindsey Cunningham will do the pitching. I assume Reazyn DeMoss will catch, but Kaley Hodge may also be in the mix. I do not know that for sure. Not sure about center field either. Starting left fielder Casey Jones will miss the season with a knee injury. Logan White may play left or center this season. Erin Kiser's(3B) big bat(16 HR'S last year) will still be in the middle of the line-up and Walter's State signee Kristen Powell(SS) will start things at the top. Returning starters Logan White(RF) and Kelsey Simmons(1B) are good players. Sophie Bremer, Emily Carr, Lydia Carr, Emily Dugger, Ashley Dykes, and Harley McMillan all return and will be competing for the 2nd base and other two outfield spots. This is all speculation based on how the season ended last year, so things may have changed or new players may have been added to the mix. I apologize if I omitted anybody. I would look for Elizabethton to finish second or third. Unicoi County has to be the favorite and Johnson County is a solid team that may challenge the Lady Cyclones this year. Coach Hardin and his staff will have this team ready to play. Go Cyclones!!!!!!

I don't think Elizabethton will even be in the top 2 this year. They have always counted on their pitching to get them by, but this year they just don't have that pitcher that will shut people down. Kelsey Simmions is scheduled to play in centerfield and be slapping in the lead off position.

I just don't see them going very far this year.

    • What has this guy done to you that is so bad? I have spoken to him at one of the games this past year and he was very nice. I am not sure on his ability to coach.
    • I didn't make it up, I was told that by another coach.   I was just passing along what I was told.  Keep your shirt on there tough guy.
    • I see them and Oakdale struggling quite a bit the next few years. I see OS to be the powerhouse of the area for awhile. It all depends on how much Coalfield can recruit.
    • How did the scrimmage with Central go?
    • I’ve said it all year coalfield isn’t the same team as the last couple years. They have 3 really good players and another pitcher that throws low to mid 80s. Other than that, everybody else is average at best. You could make the argument that their lineup was the worst out of the 4 teams in their region tournament. Oakdale is really hot right now and playing well. Greenback was the second best team there. Wartburg was hitting it well but limped into the tournament with their center fielder being hurt and their best pitcher not being able to go on the mound for them was killer.
