FURY 97 was expected to be one of the top 14U teams in Tennessee in 2011. After compiling a 67-20 record against 12U, 14U & 16-18U teams in 2010 and establishing themselves as one of the top 12U teams in the south, FURY 97 amicably closed shop after the Nationals. No real drama or animosity, all remain friends and miss the special bond the team enjoyed. We wish all of the teams we've played over the years the very best and hope everyone has a great summer.

Hey cjsugg2, who is your all-star catcher gonna play for? She's not quitting softball to take up 3-person grass volleyball is she?!?

Boomer Sooner - FURY 97 had 2 catchers (Alexis Hull & Libby Sugg) who alternated games. Neither have given up softball for 3-man grass volleyball yet, but once they experience an exciting triples tournament they'll throw their cleats away forever!

Here's where they are...

Alexis Hull is again the starting catcher for Lafayette High School in Lexington, KY. She started last year as a 7th grader. She'll play travel ball for the Kentucky Softball Club this summer.

Libby Sugg is playing middle school ball for Poplar Grove School in Franklin, TN. Since PGS is not sanctioned, she's also been playing with a combined FURY 16-18 team made up of FURY girls who live in Georgia. Once the high school season is over, she'll play travel ball for Kirk Lewis on FURY 96.

Both are elite catchers and softball players!

    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
    • Dorian Eskridge had a great Junior year, highlighted by a great game to lead HVA to an upset win at OR that year. I think that was 2010. In 2011 OR won at HVA. OR had a real good QB that year l think. Dorian Eskridge had a great senior year also. He always played hard from the DCM videos l saw.
    • It seems we lost a ton to graduation. We shall see how it shapes up for 2024.
