JPII to open season at new $2.7 million football stadium August 19th

Pope John Paul II HS will open the season Friday, August 19th, in their new $2.7 million football stadium. The new facilities include field turf, concession stands, bathrooms, and track. The facility is the best one in Sumner County. I think they are letting all middle schoolers in for free with an autographed t shirt from former JPII star and current NFL wide receiver Golden Tate! It would be nice to see them have a big year on that field. All reports sound like another average joe year though.

Thanks to Father Ryan Alum Jim Carell, Chairman, Careall,Inc. - Major Donor of Father Ryan's Jim Carell Athletic Complex who donated money to help JPII improve their facilities. The man has definitely left a legacy to say the least!

The field was good. Jim Carell gave a generious gift of $2.7 million dollars to put down turf, a track, bathroom, concession stand, spirit store, pavillion, and a donor room. One good thing is that they will still serve Center Point Bar B Q at the concession stand!!
