I am interested in who y'all think the best teams will be from this district and who the impact players will be?

My predictions are:

1. Brentwood, with many seniors leading the offense, and Shelton leading the rotation, this will be a tough team to beat. The loss of Ashcraft won't hurt as bad as people think.

2. Franklin, Don't know much about them but a scrappy team who will fight down to the last out, as they did with ravenwood and brentwood last year in the district tournament. The loss of Little will hurt but they will find a way to bounce back.

3. Ravenwood, with the new coach coming in, going to be hard to predict how they will pan out. They have limited varsity experience but with Ben Brock leading the rotation they will put up a fight. Look for surprising young talent to be a key role in their success this year on the varsity level.

4. Centenial, with a young class last year, they will have many guys coming up that have played varsity last year. Good young talent and will be especially good in years to come.

5. Indy, with the losses of Miller, Tuscano, Burdick, and other talented players, they will be a much weaker team than this district has seen over the past couple of years. Look for surprising young talent to play a key role in their success.

6. Hillsburro, Never a competitor in the district.

Actually Brentwood does not have many Srs. They are loaded with Jrs. It looks like 3 Jr pitchers may lead the staff (Shelton, Johnson, Walker)

Like I said previously this district is down. The so called front runner,Franklin, has not had a winning season since their new coach has been there. If Coach Moore had not had his team gutted from Summit opening they would be the clear favorite again. It is really sad to see this once proud district fall in terms of talent.

Also, yes at least one team will get to sub-state from this district because they will go up against a pathetic metro team.

Independence lost one player to summit, Burdick. Besides him no big player was lost to Summit. Franklin will win the district and play in a sub-state game lead by their pitching staff.

They lost more than one player. Burdick will hurt the most, but some of their best JV players also are not at Summit. The losses I talked about was in regards to depth that has helped the Eagles the last 4 seasons. This season Coach Moore will not have that advantage.

Coach Moore is still the best coach in the district. What has Franklin done the last couple of years that makes them the favorite? When was the last time they had a winning season? Franklin like the rest of the district doesn't truly have an ace.

This district is up for grabs, because the talent is way down.

I completely agree. Franklin does not have experience with winning and won't know how to handle success. I would put the district between Ravenwood and Brentwood. I think Ravenwood takes 2 of 3.

Agree with this. There about two to three more very talented players other than DB who would have probably started at Indy this year as Sophomores but are now at Summit.

The district is not up for grabs at all. Indy and Ravenwood lost alot. Ravenwood has zero pitching this year, and Indy lost a great senior class and didn't return anyone who poses a threat. Centennial returns alot but doesn't have any depth on pitching. Franklin and Brentwood will by far be the front runners in the district this year. I believe Franklin wins the district simply because they have so much depth in there rotation, they returned there whole starting rotation from last year. Besides Shelton Brentwood has no one who poses a threat in there rotation. Franklin has 3 guys who can all go 7 innings strong every time they step on the bump. All im saying is watch out, Franklin will raise some eyebrows this year.

Does Coach Glover know you are on here tooting your own horn? Sounds to me like you are a player. Like I said when was the last time Franklin had a winning season? Franklin has not won consistently since Glover has been coach. You never know what Rebel team will show up.

I'm pretty sure Indy eagle is just mad because everyone is finally going to find out how good a coach bill Moore really is.. Anyone can be good with that talent, same as the former Franklin coach who went to all the state tournaments. In my opinion glover hasn't had anything to work with since he's been there, until now. He is returning his top three

Pitchers Robertson, Benorth and I think the other one is Payne from previous post. They are a little weak on hitting but still should be top two in the district it will on depend on the Brentwood Franklin series. I think both teams will make it far but I don't know how far? The rest of the district will be down and be looking to compete to get outside the district tourny.. As for Indy, I saw they lost to Oakland in a scrimmage and from what I've heard this is the worst Oakland team in this decade

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
