im not 100% sure on camps yet,the qb and backs and recievers are playing in a psssing leauge in knoxville, and there also staying overnight at a college somewhere, kingston does have a good line this year returning,i think they have a good coach, whos gonna have a big hand in the middle school program, and also the little leauge,i think kingston will be just fine, and maurice lane is one of those kids you only see maybe once every 10 years or so,hes that good, hes the second fastest middle school player in the state, and in the tennessee, kentucky all star game a couple weeks ago he had 4 rushes for 104 yards and a touchdown, but hopefully he stays at it,his brother is playing rb this yr at kingston.believe hes a junior, not sure how good he is yet..but im excited.

I agree Kingston will be a playoff team, not very hard when all you have to do is beat stone and scott county. Kingston is not going to a college camp to stay overnight, they went to webb and played in the passing league like they did last year. I hope your right jacket fan about the future. I just dont see kingston closing the gap on those two schools, especially alcoa I have seen there middle school team last year play cherokee and it was'nt even close, to many athletes. Kingston will be hurting up front after this year, there are no lineman coming up, especially with only 42 players out for them this year, this is definitley a kingston low for numbers. Maybe Coach harrison can eventually turn it around in a couple of years if he sticks around, I hope so , my son will be coming to play next year. Go Jackets!!!!!!

So...What are your thoughts on Blair Harrison so far?

I told you he was different, not in a bad way, just different.

I hope he is getting the underclassmen more involved in the practices, especially on defense, because they are going to have to keep the scores low to have a good chance in some games.

I look for them to be improved this year. Finish third behind Alcoa and CAKe.

And maybe win a playoff game. That would be a good season for 2012.

This will happen if he plays more than 15 kids in a game which I know he will. He will not be pushed by parents for playing time.

I wish the jackets the best of luck after week 4! LOL

but this season is going to be a down season

especially if they only have 42 kids coming out

they have 1200+ students!

Kingston will not be as good this year as they were last year. They lost 18 plus seniors, that is a lot for a school that had around 55 players, They return no starters in the backfield and only one in the secondary. Kingston should finish 3rd in the district as they did last year, as far as playing more than 15 kids that is tough if you only have 42 or so out. LC, Mcminn Central, and Roclwood are all games that we need to win, just dont know if they can or not, being young and inexperienced sucks. One thing is for certain we will find out in about 4 weeks. Go jackets!!!!!

kingston has around 720 kids enrolled,i just dont see only 42 players playing this year, unless they dont suit up freshmen, they had more kids playin when vic was coaching lol?? i know of at least 20 kids when i was playin in 2001 that didnt play cause of coach king, all the favorites he played, ride ur seniors like crazy both ways is ridiculous, player development has got to be better now,as far as the season goes, kingston should finish 3rd in the region, and lenior city is gonna be stacked this year,i dont see kingston beating them this year, and if he develops the kids then having lineman wont be a big issue,as long as they work hard in the weightroom in the offseason,im just VERY curious on how this new regime is gonna turn out,if he loses to harriman they may run him out of town, btw who is the new middle school coach?

The new coach is wade creswell. He coached under pankey for a couple of years and coached the freshman team for 4 years. So far I think he has done a good job he seems to be organized and has things up and running, my son seems to like him, It will be hard to replace pankey, I dont think he was much on organization but he was an on field motivator who got the best out of kids and is a heck of a defensive line coach, he stopped by middle school practice one night to wish the boys a good season, I hope AE has a good year, Coach Pankey deserves it. I may be wrong Jacket fan but having lineman is always an issue, especially at kingston not to many 4.5 forty kids coming through roane county, so if you dont have speed you better have some guys up front to block. Kids that wanna play will play and kids that dont will find an excuse not to play, I dont buy into all the hype about not playing because of the coach. Every great kingston team has been a senior ridden team. 1973, 1981, 1989,1998 were all senior heavy that had a lot of guys playing both ways. I cant speak on Vic because I didnt play for him but I did play for Coach Gibson and we had at least 6 guys that played both ways in 1981 that were seniors, and by the way we were pretty good.I hope Kingston has more than 42 players when season starts I watched them practice last week and I counted 44 including freshman. Coach Harrison just has to keep his nose to the grind and keep working. I will be there watching, Go jackets!!!!!!!

    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
