Tryouts will be held for a new 13U team and program on Saturday, August 25th at Christ Presbyterian Academy from 9 - 12 in the morning. The Nashville Select baseball program was born to be a "player centered" organization that focuses on the development of players. In it's first season, the program intends to compete at the AAA and will be coached by 3 former/current college players. The coaches will have no son on the team, as a matter of fact, none of them even have a son.

This team will have some skill development opportunities in the winter. The regular season will begin in May. Once we begin, we will play between 40-50 games, we will participate in the Sandlott league as well as play 3-4 local tournaments and 2 out of town tournaments (Cincinnati Flames tournament for sure, with another out of town tournament to be determined).

If you are looking for a competitive travel league team for your 13U player that will place a premium on development, then please contact Larry Nesbitt (larry.nesbitt@cpalions.org) to sign your son up for the tryout.

Thanks for considering. Feel free to email me or call me (6154734090) with questions about this up and coming program.

Nashville Select Coaches:

Larry Nesbitt (Lipscomb '01 and Current CPA Baseball Coach)

Jackson Nichols (Trevecca '12)

Clayton Nichols (Current Player for Columbia State)

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
