Some great games on this side of Tennessee. FRA v Grace Christian, Webb v Knox Catholic, DCA v Boyd-Buchanan, and Davidson v CPA. Great chance for DII to cause some stir with an upset or two. Who do you think can pull it out?

Webb has an excellent shot, but that's the only one of those four in which I see a D2-A victory.

Webb will always be a tough team. Meskie is the one of the best I've seen at getting the most out of what he has. He has some very good players don't get me wrong..... Blance, Kelly etc. but he can take a average athlete and get 100 percent out of him. Webb tradition is rich and will continue to be so as formers players continue to come back and support the younger guys. I would like to see Webb go back into the other side of the division though and play Ensworth, Baylor etc.

In West 1, ECS looks like the division winner receiving a 1st round bye. They've already taken out Harding, the other legit contender, and neither SBEC or Bishop Byrne look likely to beat them. Harding has beaten both SBEC and FACS convincingly and is a lock for the #2 slot and a 1st round playoff host spot. The last game of the year b/w SBEC and FACS will be for a travelling #3 playoff seed. Both have dropped off somewhat from last year but SBEC looks a bit better. Definitely a drop b/w 2 and 3 this year when last year it was pretty tight within the top 3 group.

In West 2, the best two teams in the West in St. George's and USJ (both have beaten ECS in tight games) are on a collision course October 12th for the #1 seed, division championship and a 1st round bye. The loser hosts at home as a #2. As in West 1, the dropoff to the #3 slot is a pretty big win. Look for the last game of the year b/w a resurgent Fayette Academy and Jackson Christian to be for the #3 travelling slot.

The West seems to be generally in line. ECS, SGIS, and USJ all seem to be pretty good. Harding is behind them...not far behind but still behind that group.

No clue on the East. Except for Webb who looks excellent. I see that FRA gave SGIS a good game early in the year and beat Donelson Christian but they lost to a Davidson team that was handled at home by a somewhat down SBEC squad. Hard to figure without first hand accounts.

great update trojan fan. the JCS-FA game wont be close. JCS a great set of christian folks but FA will win by a lot. I have heard that DA has had some crucial ijuries in past couple weeks so FRA and webb look to be best two teams in the East. Does anyone from the East disagree with that?

    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
