Just for kicks and giggles I like to take the TSSAA 'If the season ended now' quad selections and place them in the play-off brakets according to that weeks seeding and make my selections to see who would represent the west side of Tennessee in 5A and 6A in the championship games. In 5A I've come up with the following.

5A-Q3 Seeding:

1) Beech

2) Antioch

3) Hendersonville

4) Station Camp

5) Hillsboro

6) Centenial

7) Portland

8) Hillwood

5A-Q3 Brackets:

Side 1

1) Beech vs 8) Hillwood

4) Station Camp vs 5) Hillsboro

Side 2

3) Hendersonville vs 6) Centenial

2) Antioch vs 7) Portland

Round Winners:

Round 1: 1) Beech, 5) Hillsboro, 3) Hendersonville, & 2) portland

Round 2: 1) Beech, 3) Hendersonville

Round 3: 1) Beech

5A-Q4 Seeding:

1) Jackson Northside

2) Harding Co.

3) Clarksville NE

4) Henry Co.

5) Craigmont

6) Munford

7) Ridgeway

8) Memphis East

5A-Q4 Brackets:

Side 1:

1) JNS vs 8) Memphis East

4) Henry County vs 5) Craigmont

Side 2:

3) Clarkville NE vs 7) Ridgeway

2) Harding Co. vs 6) Munford

Round Winners:

Round 1: 1) JNS, 4) Henry Co., 7) Ridgeway, 2) Harding Co.

Round 2: 1) JNS, 7) Ridgeway

Round 3: Ridgeway

Round 4: Beech vs Ridgeway winner = Beech

Now ... I KNOW there will be some folks who disagree ... so let's have your input. I'll do 6A shortly.

Portland would not beat Antioch. Contrary to popular belief, the win against Station Camp was not a fluke, and if I am not mistaken, didn't SC beat Portland. Most people have not seen this team play, they are big and physical and wear down most teams. I predict an Antioch-Hendersonville 2nd rd. Toss up from there.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
    • Let's get and support the Pirates in Murfreesboro.
