.

Looks like it's going to be a tough game on Friday night at panther stadium as the Ooltewah owls come to town. Lenoir City will have to play better than they did on Friday to win. Even though Lenoir City won 44-16 they came out sloppy and unfocused. Hopefully there will be some Owls fans on here to make some predictions and share your thoughts. To the Anderson County and Ooltewah fans what would you say the strengths and weaknesses are of the Owls? I think this one is going to be very close. I am going to say LC by 10. I think they will come out ready to play on this one. For LC they have become pretty balanced, but still lean more towards the pass. They can really kill you on big pass plays. A weakness from last week, they let Walker Valley get 2 big runs for touchdowns.

Ooltewah leans on a heavy run from a stable of solid backs; Desmond Pittman being the feature back, and one big guy to try and tackle (the only guy I've ever seen to play RB and D tackle). The owls defense is always strong, they picked off 5 passes last week against Anderson County and returned two for TD's. If LC relys on the pass, and they can get a few quick hits they might be able to do well. If they rely on developing routes they will be in for a long night with the Owl pass rush and d backs covering.

Wow 5 picks! That's pretty good. I think LC will still be able to do some passing on them. They have a way of getting open. We will see. Sounds like it should be a great one. Sounds like you guys have really improved over the earlier part of the season. We also have a QB that's really good at scrambling if he has too, so it should be a good matchup.

Yeah, I think this will be a great one. It could really go either way. I think it's going to be who wants it the most and makes the fewest mistakes. So from what I am gathering so far it sounds like the owls are mainly a run team?.... Sounds like maybe a team that likes to pound the ball and wear you down.

Well luckily for LC they have one great kicker. If he is punting or kicking the ball then it will almost always go in the end zone or out the back of the end zone. We have a pretty good punt returner in Jaylon Woods #7. What number is Pittman? I will watch for him. 38 carries sounds like he is their go to guy.

Gonna be a great game toady. One poll has LC by 3 and another prediction has LC by 2 in overtime. Going to be a great one today. Hope everyone is safe on the way up and back home tonight. Should be a real barn burner . Good luck to both teams, but just a little more luck for LC! Go Panthers.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
