  1. Honestly being second place in the district isn't very impressive considering the talent in the district is down this year. I wouldn't say his coaching skills are subpar, the way he runs practice and the overall attitude he brings to the locker room is where he is the problem. When I was there he pretty much ran the team already (2012 state tourney team). I will give him the credit of being able to get his kids small college scholarships though. Thinking about my comment earlier was probably a little too early to be judging and calling for his job. heck, who else would they hire.
  2. Brooke Copeland at Bradley. Surely she has to be in the running for top score. She had 40 in a game this past week.
  3. It is almost funny how bad he coaches his team. They aren't running an offense or defense that reflects the talent his players have. I think the team has a lot of talent, although it is young, it is still good potential D1 in a few years. East Ham may want to take a serious look into finding a new coach. Not saying that Ooltewah is coached much better though. From my own experience, former player, Montgomery (the kinda interim coach) is not a respectable candidate to replace Nayadley.
  4. You will know which one is the feature back when you see him. haha He is the one lined up in the backfield that looks like he should be on the line somewhere, but #28.
  5. Where is Bryce Copeland on the list?! Sadik Spence is alright, but top 3 AND not a senior? I don't think so. I also think you guys have Antonio Jackson a little over rated. He likes to be more highlight oriented which causes a lot of turnovers, not great on defense either. I would say Stedmon is the best in the city, if not the whole Chattanooga area. If vonn bell plays basketball this year he should be on the list somewhere as well.
  6. They will run the ball until the other team can stop them, I blieve pittman had something like 38 carries last week. Also be worried about special teams, if the owls get to return a kick they have one great returner in Mclain #5.
  7. Ooltewah leans on a heavy run from a stable of solid backs; Desmond Pittman being the feature back, and one big guy to try and tackle (the only guy I've ever seen to play RB and D tackle). The owls defense is always strong, they picked off 5 passes last week against Anderson County and returned two for TD's. If LC relys on the pass, and they can get a few quick hits they might be able to do well. If they rely on developing routes they will be in for a long night with the Owl pass rush and d backs covering.
  8. Where is Bryce Copeland from Bradley? Jamaal Calvin from Mccallie?
  9. So your predicting Ooltewah to lose to McMinn tonight? That might be hard to believe the way they are playing here lately.
  10. Give all credit to Rhea County, but there is no excuse for why Ooltewah should have lost to them. The players weren't playing very well together (coach only plays about 6 or 7 anyways). Alot of easy missed shots and turnovers, they pressed alot in the game and it wasn't working and kept doing it (thats on coach). But overall, I'd say they were just out coached in that game, Nayadley showed no actual intensity or any intent to win the game.
  11. Stedmon Ford- Notre Dame D.J. Bowles- Cleveland Bryce Copeland- Bradley Central Antonio Jackson- Ooltewah Reggie Upshaw- Baylor Terrance Odonohue- Mccallie Cody Knox- East Hamilton These are just the few that I know of, all are very impressive!
  12. They have their days talking about shooting but are usually good shooters. As far as coaching....I wouldn't say well coached, I'll leave it at that. Owls lost to Rhea by 4 on Friday...
  13. With their best player hurt, Stovall out (shoulder correct me if im wrong), Chastain's hand. They other players will have to step it up and I don't see how they will be able to make up for what they've lost.
  14. I don't see bradley doing very well without Copeland
  15. They could've both been in round two if not for injuries or suspensions to key players, so yeah they were pretty good. And as for basketball, they have no need Bradley's point guard just snapped his arm in half (prayers to him), Ooltewah has the best team in the area once again, hopefully they can finally beat Cleveland; but that's for another thread.
  16. Okay, that still doesn't answer how Powell will stop Ooltewah's offense. Sure, Mobley will get his yards and his stats cause he is a great back, but will that be enough? I just think everyone is underestimating Ooltewah, they very well could have been 9-1 and a 2 seed if not for losing on the last drive in two games (Bradley and McMinn).
  17. All you guys are talking about the Powell offense, how do they plan on stopping the Ooltewah offense? From what I understand they did a lot in putting up 42 points on Shelbyville. The Owl's linemen, both ways, have stepped up in the last few games. If Powell thinks they are going "to roll over ooltewah" they have something coming. As for the running back, yeah he will get his yards but if they plan on pulling away they will have to be able to pass against a very good defensive backfield. Look to see Stone and Rudwall to have their names called all night on defense.
  18. I agree with most of this. I think where they are getting beat is in the kick coverage. At siegel, the one time they actually let him kick off for real, he kicks it into the end zone. Then the next kick, touchdown all the way back. I don't understand why they don't let him kick it deep because he has a pretty consistent leg in my opinion.
  19. Pittman(RB) I think he has too many fumble problems so they don't hand it off too much. As for the one who got decleated, he played the rest of the game, he told me afterwards he was out cold for a good 20 seconds but no concussions. Just a little whip lash and headaches. Walk it off haha
  20. I don't think there is a chance that we score that much. Stephens, the QB was ejected late in the game last week so rumor is he will not be able to play for this game (possibly the next). That leaves us with our inexperienced backup, Binder. Who surely hasn't impressed me in the games he has appeared in.
  21. That's very true, but as the season goes on, more and more teams will get some video of their game plan. The execution in the siegel game was also not as good as before games, could attribute to siegel's Defense being prepared or just lack of focus. The owls D was run all over in the last game, which I dont think will happen again because they will be more focused to not lose district games. Overall, I think the owls come back this week focused and ready to play and I will keep my score above.
  22. I want to start off by commenting on the play calling of Coach Williams. Another screen pass? Oh ANOTHER screen pass? That and turnovers is the reason Ooltewah lost their last game. On a brighter note, I think they come out in this game with a new game plan and run more and hopefully #28 will be able to hold on to the ball. Also the punt returner #5 is something special, keep an eye on him. Prediction for this game: 31-14 Owls. Drew Manning is back in the lineup this week, the deep ball to Mikhail Creech is starting to come around, and James Stone is putting in work on the defensive line. They have all the potential in the world, hopefully Williams will be able to call something different this week and get them going back in the right direction.
