One true fact about the Ridgeway situation

I have known head coach Wes Henning for more than 15 years. I have no doubt in stating that he had no idea this was going on. I know that recruiting goes on in Memphis but this is far beyond that. As a high school administrator I may have done the exact same thing in accepting the documentation presented at registration. This was not a star player and he does look like a high school student. The blame should be on the player and his wife.

Exactly I hate that for the kids. TSSAA is really Finna make it hard for any put of town transfer from Memphis?

Agreed, Galilee. However, it is someone's responsibility within Ridgeway or MCS to validate the paperwork the "student" submitted. This should have been caught in August or whenever the man enrolled.

Not sure about transfer from Memphis, but for sure transfers into Memphis from out of town.

Bottom line...you can't just accept some bogus paperwork as factual,someone from the coach,principal,AD,central office,ect...has to give a legitimate effort to validate registration and transfer papers.Maybe this outrageous incident will finally prompt Childress to shut down the unrestricted free agent market in Memphis.No way kids should swap schools without losing eligability at their current rate,the AD must have a rubber stamp when granting hardship transfers...no time like the present to put a stop to it!

Coach Henning is one of the most upstanding people I beleve him too when he says he did not know I feel really bad for the other kids who worked hard
