Talented but young.  Should win the conference, and at least get to a regional semifinal game.

Post game is the weakness.  Twins give them a chance to win every game they play.

Early season matchup with Science Hill will be a good measuring stick.

Is this the 'limestonecove' I've grown to love? I'd say this is a fair assessment of the Lady Cyclones.

I have not seen them yet, though I know they beat Chuckey-Doak by 11 on the road and beat Cherokee by 43 at home.  Sarah Bradley is a returning starter at the point and she should provide senior leadership on and off the court.  The sophomore Marosite twins (Kayla and Kelci) will man the wings and have multiple offensive and defensive abilities.  I am not sure who is starting inside.  I know that Megan Pietrowski, Sarah Robinson, and Kyra McCrary are three juniors with a good mix of height, strength, and athleticism.  Sophomore Emily Schubert is 6'1" and could also be a factor in the post.  Sophomore guards Melenda Perry and Emily Kiser provide quality point and wing depth.  I have not seen freshman guard Haley Burleson, but I have been told that she is the real deal.  By my count, that is 10 girls that can play.  I believe that this should be another very good team as the young posts develop.  A deep post season run is a good possibility.....Go Cyclones!

I agree I think Elizabethton is the front runner of their conference. They are much different than they were last year IMO,I think their biggest flaw is their inside game and ability to rebound the basketball. But on the brightside I can see a leaps and bounds improvement out of the Robinson girl. She's very athletic, can knock down the 15 footer and has a quick first step when she puts it on the floor from the foulline. But they have no need to worry they are going to be pretty strong I just dont think you will be able to tell how strong until after Christmas. Well after assessing all the teams in the conference I am going to make my predictions for this year and I may be eating crow come February so someone might have to get me a big glass of water to wash it down

1.Elizabethton

2.Sullivan East

3.Sullivan South

4.Johnson County

5.Happy Valley

6.Unicoi

7.Sullivan North

I will take a stab at the final standings just for fun:

1. Elizabethton

2. Sullivan South

3. Happy Valley

4. Sullivan East

5. Unicoi County

6. Johnson County

7. Sullivan North

Unicoi is the toughest call for me.  With Laughren I would have placed them 3rd.  Without her, I am placing them 5th for now.

The young girls for Elizabethton are not playing as a team right now.  I believe that is a coaching thing.  What always made those girls special is they put five on the floor that you had to stop and the coaching staff has let that slip away and are not utilizing all of there weapons.  I believe in a pressure situation that EHS coaches fail.  The Science Hill game and last year state playoffs show that.

The cyclone girls are playing good basketball and are inproving every game and are going to be a tough team to beat come tournament time.I know any thing can happen but I don't see any team in our conference beating them but that's why they play the games.I haven't seen South play yet so they may give us some trouble.Go Cyclones

Big test for elizabethton will be their upcoming matchup vs science hill. Unless the refs dictate the game should be a very intriguing matchup with science hill playing very well

It will be tough beating SH and they have already beat us earlier in the year.We will have to play our best to beat them in January.
