There are shall we say...a "few" ladies that live in the cities of Murvil and Alcoee that have bounced the basketball at the county (Heritage A&M) schools. A few play baseball at Alnwick....It happens.

Because they are county residents and pay county taxes...They can go to county schools and not pay ANY tuition.

It comes down to the zoning policies of the local school district. If they do not have a problem or rule against it, there is no problem as far as TSSAA is concerned, but it can certainly create a situation that is exploitative of students and create an unlevel playing field. Since is apparently has not, no one cares. There is a quality of recruit that is definitely a portion of the equation.

Every time an IB shows up, the other rivals in the area complain. But no IB brings in 193 students to a school like Alcoa has in out of zone, tuition paying students.

Alcoa Elementary School has 619 resident students and 126 tuition students. Alcoa Middle School has 369 resident students and 164 tuition students. Alcoa High School has 343 resident students and 193 tuition students.

So what, my niece goes to Alcoa Middle and my sister pays tuition. She lives in Maryville....go figure! At 12, she's faster than #2. Maybe she'll suit up when she gets to the high school lol
