Well Chs is at 22 wins on the season. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that is a school record. Looked a little off defensively with 4-5 errors. From same positions that's been weak all year but made up for it with their bats. Big junior young man hit one half way to Crossville.Lol. 54 had a good outing an 55 came in an finished it off with very strong arm.Good job guys buckle up defense can't do that tomorrow night.

Okay Chs you have had a real good season but its not over yet. Being the underdog is good. Coaches shift your infield around. This team hits up middle a lot more than anywhere else. You are weak in the middle errors there Monday will cost you dearly. You have to play really good ball. Hitters hit the dam ball this is it win or go home.Have a goal don't be the one to strikevout . Coaches remember you are coaching best team you have had. And they are all 9-10 th graders and few juniors. The game is won are lost on the practice field. So its meaningless to kick and throw stuff.Remember that and go to Gordonsville pull an upsey . If you don't so what. What a season those young boys have had.

I dont know why you people at Clarkrange keep saying this team is a young team. I have done some checking and Clarkrange's starting line up has a Junior on 3rd, Short, 1st, Center, and sometimes in Right. Catch and 2nd are technically sophomores but should be Juniors. DH and the runner are Seniors. Left is a Freshman and they have a Freshman that pitches sometimes. So really they are mostly Juniors with a few others. Getting on here throwing off on any player at any position is wrong. ALL make errors in the field and at bat. Not one player on any team is perfect. As long as this this coach plays players based on experience, ability, and effort, and not based on $$$$$$ they should be fine. Win or lose Monday, they have had a good season. Also, Clarkrange plays Goodpasture, not Gordonsville. I dont have a dog in the race, but I did grow up in Fentress County and would like to see a local school advance in something besides basketball, so please keep your comments positive. These boys dont need any parent getting on here being negative and bringing them down or singling out one or two players. I hope everybody had a Great Mother's Day, especially you freshy mom.

Clarkrange has played a very weak schedule this year and even though they won 20+ games when the tournament come around they lose to a Jackson County team who has 7 or 8 wins. Congrats to JC with the win over Watertown

and the district championship..never count out Coach Looper or Coach King and still only 3 teams has won this district in 15 years! Will be so glad when Goodpasture is gone that way the region tournament as a whole will be competitive. To have any chance at advancing in 7a you absolutely have to win the district because if you finish 2nd your playing one more game and then going home. As far as having a young team goes that excuse is irrelevant halfway through season especially if you have a talented team, and Clarkrange obviously has a talented team.

    • Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
    • The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..
    • I think they have they coach they want close to being done. I guess we will all see how this plays out. I hope the hire a good one. There are some players in the box for the next coach to work with.
