There are not really any inconsistencies when you know the make up of each of the different teams.  All State players can be from any grade level and are chosen by classification, A, AA, AAA, and DII from all across the state.  Many of the girls who make all state may not be seniors.  The All Star Teams are chosen from only the senior class since the All Star Games are only allowed to be played in Tennessee according to the TSSAA after they have graduated high school.  Also when choosing the All Star Teams you have to select players by their positions.  You can not have a team of 12 pitchers, etc.  These young ladies are nominated by their coaches and voted on by coaches.  The players chosen have to be able to attend and play in the All Star games both the Regional and the Kentucky/Tennessee games.  Some players may be out of town, injured or chose not to play for various reasons.  The TSCA strives to chose the Best of the Best.  If anyone has ever been to one of the Regional or Ky/Tn All Star games you would see that these young ladies represent Tennessee very well.  Please keep in mind that there is no perfect way to pick or chose a limited number of players when you have the whole state to chose from.  The TSCA tries to do things to benefit the players with All Star Games, Scholarships, All Academic awards, All State awards, etc.  The ladies chosen for each of these awards will benefit from the recognition and being honored.

There is not a way to "QUOTE" the list from the link but all of the players from this list were not seniors.

All of the players are nominated by their coaches and they are to only turn in senior athletes from their team.  There is always a possibility that a high school coach may have nominated someone that does not meet that standard if so we would like to know about it.  That being said, if we make an error and have someone on our list who is not a senior please contact one of our Executive Directors at phillip.Burkhart@cmcss.net or cobracoach@yahoo.com.

We have been informed that one of our players is in fact not a senior and we are working to try to fix that problem.

U have to

Pay to be apart of this. What a money scam!

Please share with me the name of an association that does not require dues/funding. I just do not understand all the negative comments in regards to the Coaches Association. Middle Tennessee has run one for several years naming their All Stars without rebuttal or criticism. I wish people would encourage their Coaches to participate and help build the organization. Girls sports in general need all the help/recognition they can get.

You are right, girls need all publicity they can get. Your also right you can't pick every deserving player. What you can do is not try telling knowledge softball people that a team that finished below .500 season record, wasn't top two in district, has not one, but two players on All Star team out all Middle Tn players.

Shall I go on?

Here is a link to the TBCA (Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association) and as you can see for a school-wide membership we are $60 a year cheaper because we are still trying to build a class organization to benefit the young ladies and coaches who play and coach the game in Tennessee.  And at the end of the year after the Kentucky/Tennessee All Star game the TSCA will again be back at less than $100 in the banking account and this is to keep web site going, all other proceeds go back to the girls in scholarships and awards, so if it's a scam to give softball girls a little recognition I guess we missed something.
