Possible change at Copper Basin

Has anyone heard the rumor that Coach Kidd is taking the boys basketball program over again? I have watched the cougars play a few times this season and the intensity and chemistry is not the same at all. I think the new coach is a nice guy, but 2-8 is inexcusable for this team. They have a lot of good players but can't seem to get anything going. Thursdays lost to Nantahalla has kinda put the Copper Basin community in an uproar.

they're typically a sub .500 team the last few years, aren't they? A bit better last year, but not eye-popping. Why would people think 2-8 is inexcusable? Seems close to the last few seasons to me. Obviously, need to improve... But I'm not sure it's a great surprise. Edited by CAH09

The last six years Basin boys basketball has averaged 13 wins a year and last year was 19-6 losing only four players. The two starters back are two of the best players in district 5a. This is the team that was thought to be the best team in a while. This is why folks are talking. Basin hasn't been sub 500 in seven years. Been in region four of the last five years.

Basin has been bad for awhile. They may not have been "sub .500" but lots of teams can accomplish that with proper scheduling. And making your region is not real tough with only 5 teams in your district. If people in Basin were expecting much more than what they are getting then it is the expectations that are misplaced and need to be reevaluated.

Coacht must be wrong then, it has them below .500 two of the last three years... That's as far as I looked.
