Those things help but it doesn't necessarily mean more success. I think they need some new flame at the helm. Somebody young with some new innovative ideas to get the kids more prepared for their opponents. A coach that knows how to make adjustment and not depend solely on the Tony Franklin System because that's all they know..

Believe me when I say you can not win by running any scheme. Your team has to match the skill set of that offense. That's like saying alabama would have been good running the veer this past season. When you have big thick kids, you don't spead them out and run a fast pace offense. You adjust to the type of team you have. Adding little parts of differents schemes to balance your offense is a good way to mix things up. Once again it's hard to do these things when you only know the Franlin System. Diversity is the key to winning unless you have the superior team like a union city. Even Dyersburg coaches have some spread plays the run even though they are a wing T. You have to put your players in the right situation to execute.

True. I'm just trying to say that execution is more important than the scheme.

What will it take to get this program turned back around? Tough schedule last year and it looks to be just as competitive this upcoming season. The offense looked out of sync last season. Hope the new 2015-16 team finds the missing pieces to put together a decent season.

what was your record last year?

Most importantly is the level of importance of football at the school....

1. boys basketball

2. girls basketball

3. baseball

4. cheerleading

5. football

If you live in the area and want to play winning football and have great facilities go to Dyersburg

I've said for a long time that consolidation could work in Dyer County. Can you imagine the state titles?

Your list of priorities is just about right.  At Dyersburg it's probably:

1. Academics

2. Football

3. GIRLS (softball, girls hoops, soccer, etc.)

4. Fine arts

Now imagine the possibilities of ONE school.  Oh, I love stirring the pot.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
