Who is everyone's prediction in Class AA?

It was a ugly game by both teams. CPA had too many turnovers and lots of foul trouble early. CPA could have put it away in the fourth but turnovers let MLK get back in it.

I hesitate to criticize a coaching staff and players who had a fantastic year and have done such a great job making CPA girls true champions; however, I went to the Regional Finals game and I have never seen a team manage a lead as poorly as CPA did that night. They were up 15 going into the 4th quarter, and from that point forward they played as if they were 15 points down. They gave up the lead and were lucky to win due to 2 unforced errors by  Giles Co. late.

CPA, with the big lead, played like they were behind, not ahead, 15. They were throwing up quick, long 3 point shots, forcing shots against pressure in transition, driving to the basket against a set defense. Once they had 2 possessions, were not being defended closely, and used a total of 20 second on the clock. The guards with the ball out front were not even being defended closely and they were forcing their offense when they could have just held the ball. It was amazing to watch. So, seeing CPA led last night by 6 going into the 4th and losing did not surprise me.

Still, great season by a great group.

    • One final thought. Coach Keith claims he was not aware of the player's failing grades. I won't comment on that, just to say this, IF he did not, whose job was it to see that this kid did not play ball at CHS? That person should be looking for a job and they might be, I don't know.
    • They have fired the principal, 2 teachers, at least 1 counsellor and 1 coach so far. I don't see it from my view in Oak Ridge as a coach thing, he  was just implicated in asking 1 teacher to  fix 1 kid's grades.   In our local media(Clinton and Oak Ridge)the principal is who is the originator and pusher of the fraud. The others are peripheral. The coach isn't even the big story, just here on a sports site.  The media view is the principal did it to cause CHS to be seen as excellent by the state. He committed fraud to do that so he might spend a little time in jail IF that is valid.
    • And from coach himself, he wasn’t told he was let go because of the ineligible player.    that’s just what the schools needed to happen to fit their bull
    • Wish it was made clear before a coach gets let go or not retained instead of being sold as the reason he was in trouble. I was told the kids who got grades changed, 97% or better were non athletes but the coach is taking all the heat so the schools can pretend it wasn’t their job to know. heck, what do you think could happen when you hire husband and wife as head principal and head guidance….   that’s not being said though…
    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe.  Last time I came up there to watch my pirates one of those guys in that pickup trucks flattened the tires on the lawnmower.  This is payback.  You can bet the lawnmower on that.
