REVDL
Well it looks like a lot of the high school coaches have already reached out to you, but I'll add my name to the list. I am Donnie Shipley head coach at Elizabethton High School and T.A. Dugger Jr. High programs. We are a growing program that needs more coaches with strong wrestling resumes. I am a local guy born and raised with over 25 years of wrestling experience as a wrestler, assistant coach, and head coach. I currently have 2 assistant coaches: Logan Baker 2x state qualifier for Happy Valley High School and Travis Pennel NJ wrestler with multiple years of experience as a coach and wretsler. I started a middle school program 3 years ago and took over the high school program 2 years ago. I anticpate having a large crop of Freshman this year with 2-3 years of middle school experience. I would love to talk with you as we are looking to have someone take over the middle school program and add at least one more assistant position moving into to next season. Thanks, Donnie Shipley Elizabethton High School (423)794-9882 shipleyd2@k12tn.net

AzZa9
Not sure yet, my wife tells me that wrestling will be the major factor where we move but she is in nursing school so somewhere near a hospital most likely!
AzZa9
It should read wrestling will not be a major factor

ArtusCimber
I am the coach at Dobyns-Bennett. Sory it took me so long to reply but we hosted the AAU Elementary National Duals this past Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you concerning our program. Please let me know if you are interested in having a conversation. We have great facilities, the best feeder program in the area, a very dedicated staff and great support. We will sign 2 wrestlers for scholarships this class and expect the trend to continue. Buzzy Mann Head Wrestling Coach gmann@k12k.com I'm not sure what empirical evidence "the best feeder system in the area" comment is based upon. Viking Wrestling Club, which has produced two recent (underclass) state medalists over the past two seasons, and has produced a nucleus that made a deep run in the state duals this year, probably deserves that distinction. They will be the team to beat in the region next year, and don't appear to be going away anytime soon. It might also be noted that their middle school team finished second in both the conference indidvual and dual tournaments. The team that finished ahead of them in the middle school conference was Liberty Bell, which feeds Science Hill. They were undefeated in the conference this season and will return a strong nucleus; in addition, it looks like sixth graders will be able to participate on the middle school team next year. I hope I don't confuse anyone with the facts.

The term feeder is not just middle school, but anything below high school. The other thing you have to consider is DB and Jeff County has 2 middle school programs to everyone else that has one. Robinson is stronger for sure, but there are usually a couple that do well from sevier as well. Elementary is where the best feeders are, not middle school. Indian Springs Warrior Wrestli 3907 31 212.5 Bristol Wrestling Club 3909 13 115.5 Did anyone have to qualify for AAU State this year? Hope this thread doesn't go off the rails. Also hope that AzZa9 can find a place to coach in the Tri-Cities. There's only one head coaching job that's likely to be available if that's what you're looking for. Not sure that it will be. Most of this region try to work together improve the overall wrestling in the area. We are still not on par with much of the state but some schools are making strides and appear to be closing the gap. Some schools not so much. These schools are where you would have the most immediate impact.
