We have a few team spots remaining for the 2017 Soddy Daisy Showdown on 12/29-30/17.

Soddy Daisy Showdown

December 29 - 30, 2017

 

Location:   Soddy Daisy High School              Entry Fee:  $250 per varsity team

                       618 Sequoyah Road                                            $10 per JV entry             

                       Soddy Daisy, TN  37379                           checks payable to SDTC

Friday, December 29, 2017 (EST):

·       5:00PM weigh-ins, teams provide their own sheets

·       5:45PM coaches meeting in Commons

·       6:00PM start time

·       2 entries per weight class, pool format

·       1st and 2nd place medals

 

Saturday, December 30, 2017 (EST):

·       8:00AM weigh-ins, teams provide their own sheets

·       9:30AM coaches meeting in Commons

·       10:00AM start time

·       2lb growth allowance (if wrestling Friday, December 29 let us know)

·       16-man brackets, double elimination, wrestling 6 mats

·       medals for 1st – 4th individual placers in each weight class

awards for 1st – 2nd place for overall team scores

awards for Best Match (106-145, 152-285) and Outstanding Wrestler

                        (pickup at head table after finals)

·       deadline for entries is Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 9:00PM

·       hotel recommendations available upon request

 

Admission:  $10/adult…..$6/student…..free/under age 6

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
