TheStuff
3 region matchups this week in 5AA. The forecast is for warmer temps and should be a beautiful night for football. Lewis County cracked the AP Top 10 this week, coming in at #8 following a win at home last Friday night against previously undefeated and previously #8 Eagleville. Lewis County's defense continues to come up big, and this week should be another opportunity to assert themselves as they travel to Summertown. Summertown, winless in 2017, has struggled to get going on offense, and has put their defense in situations where they were on the field more often than not. Last week left Summertown the only team in the region without a win, and they won't get one Friday. Lewis County 43 Summertown 0 Forrest may have found the spark they have been missing last week when they notched their first win of the season against Summertown. Forrest finds themselves looking up at the leaders in the region, a place they are not familiar with. Columbia Academy, now ranked #4 in the AP Poll, stepped out of region and traveled to Lipscomb Academy last week, coming away with the win. This game could be much closer than some think. CA is home for the first time this season, where they are 13-2 over the last two seasons including postseason play. CA 27 Forrest 20 Community came up with their first win of the season last week at Richland, and their offense continues to put points on the board. Eagleville dropped out of the AP Poll last week after a loss at Lewis County, but their offense is still one of the better units in the region. One defense will have to step up to stop the others explosive offense, and I think Eagleville has the better defense. But, will the loss last week have lingering affects on the Eagles. Eagleville 34 Community 18 Loretto keeps its current win streak intact, as they are on their bye week.

TheStuff
Region 5AA Standings 1) Lewis County (5-0, 3-0) 2) Columbia Academy (4-1, 2-0) 3) Eagleville (4-1, 2-1) 4) Forrest (1-4, 1-2) 5) Community (1-3, 0-1) 6) Loretto (1-4, 0-1) 7) Summertown (0-5, 0-3) Region 5AA Schedule for Week 5: #4 Columbia Academy (4-1, 2-0) IDLE Community (1-3, 0-1) v. 4AA Cascade (0-4, 0-2) Eagleville (4-1, 2-1) at 5A Moore County (4-1, 1-1) Forrest (1-4, 1-2) at 4AA Watertown (3-2, 1-1) #6 Lewis County (5-0, 3-0) at 6AA Hickman County (4-1, 2-0) Loretto (1-4, 0-1) v. 6AA East Hickman (1-4, 0-2) Summertown (0-5, 0-3) v. 6A Collinwood (2-2, 1-0) No regional matchups as everyone steps out of region to play, with the exception of Columbia Academy who is Idle this week. CA remains ranked #4 in the latest AP Top 10 for AA, and Lewis County climbs two spots to #6. With no region matchups, the playoff picture is still too open to call, but obviously LC and CA are in the driver’s seat, and Summertown is nearing elimination from a chance at a playoff spot. TheStuff
No regional matchups for this week’s slate of games, so no more clarity to the postseason prospects of any team in 5AA. Columbia Academy and Lewis County remain ranked in the latest AP 2A Poll, and both should hold firm with CA idle and LC playing Hickman County. Columbia Academy is ranked #4 in the latest version of the AP 2A poll, and has their open date this Friday. The Bulldogs get 2 weeks to prepare for their next regional opponent, Community, next Friday night. Community comes in with only 1 win on the season, and lost last week in their first regional game against Eagleville. The Vikings offense went off a couple of weeks ago against Richland, but were held more in check last week. They host winless Cascade from 4AA, and should notch their second win of the season. Community 30 Cascade 22 Eagleville rolled again last week when they met up with Community, and their offense continues to put up numbers. This week the Eagles travel to 4A Moore County, who has the same 4-1 overall record. Both teams notched double-digit wins against Community, but Eagleville handled Cornersville with ease, and Cornersville shut out Moore County earlier in the season. Eagleville 38 Moore County 13 Forrest looks like they are righting the ship after a 1 point, overtime loss with Eagleville, big win against Summertown, and a tight loss last week with CA. They have been inconsistent on offense, which is one thing that this week’s opponent, Watertown, has not been. Watertown has scored in bucket loads, and should do the same this week at home. Would like to call for the Forrest upset, because they are playing better, but I will pull up short of that. Watertown 32 Forrest 22 Lewis County is ranked #6 in the new AP 2A Poll, and travels to Hickman County to face their biggest rival. You can usually throw records out the window when these two meet, but this game should not be close. Lewis County’s defense has been strong all season, and has shown growth each week. The Bulldogs narrowly defeated Summertown, and Lewis County started moving down the depth chart before halftime last week against the same Summertown team. Lewis County 36 Hickman County 6 Loretto has had 2 weeks to get ready to host East Hickman this Friday. The Mustangs ended a 22 game losing streak the last time they strapped up, and could come up with the win at home against the Eagles, losers of 4 straight. Loretto has potential to score points, as do the Eagles. Loretto 26 East Hickman 24 Summertown struggled mightily last Friday night with Lewis County, and the Eagles were held to less than 25 yards of total offense for the second time this season. Summertown had not found the end zone in the last 12 quarters of football. Collinwood had little issue with Perry County last week, and should meet little resistance this week. GeneralForrest
FYI the Eagleville Forrest game was at Eagleville. This is a good thread tho. The difference between LC and Forrest is not super huge, but LC has found ways to win, Forrest has not, and that will happen again this Fri Forrest has struggled to put up 2 TDs a game. They have only put up one the last 2 weeks. I'm taking LC 21-

TheStuff
Columbia Academy enters Friday night's matchup with Community now ranked #3 in the AP 2A Poll. CA is a tough draw at home over the last 2 seasons, posting a 14-2 record in the shadows of Anderson Field House. Community has scored 110 points in their 2 victories, including 52 in last weeks drubbing of Cascade. Columbia Academy's defense has been strong, especially the last three weeks. This is only the Vikings' second region game, and they will have to be able to score points tonight to be in the game late. Columbia Academy 29 Community 16 Eagleville steps out of region this week to take on 5A Richland. Eagleville continues to put up numbers each week, after hanging 41 on Moore County last week. They have one common opponent on the season, with the Eagles beating Community a couple weeks ago 34-22, and Community blowing our the Raiders 58-0. This could end in much the same fashion for the Raiders. Eagleville 52 Richland 0 Lewis County has climbed to the #5 spot in the AP 2A Poll this week, and travels to Chapel Hill to take on an underachieving, but full of potential, Forrest team. Lewis County's defense has been the head of the spear for the last few weeks, and Forrest has struggled to be consistent on offense. The Panthers' offense has hit a different gear the last two weeks, and has speed in skill positions that can make any play a big play. Lewis County 30 Forrest
