  1. Columbia Academy at South Gibson 6 pm.
  2. Iron sharpens iron, and this region has plenty of it. All teams making the playoffs in his region will wreak havoc in the other regions and should be meeting back up with their own foes herein. Pullin’ For my Dawgs with 16 Srs, a defense mostly in tact from last year and a backfield that could surpass 3,000 yds rushing this year. CA scrimmages East Nashville this Friday at Vanderbilt Stadium 6 pm.
  3. CA scrimmages East Nashville this Friday at Vanderbilt Stadium. 6 pm if you’re in town.
  4. I didn’t think it would kill it though.
  5. As we sing our swan's song on the way out of DI this year, we'll leave a trail of destruction and take the gold ball with us. (this'll be a good thread, lol!)
  6. After what I saw first hand last night, I have to go with UC hands down. I don't think any of the 3A or 4A teams would want to play them. Mayfield must be a machine if they shut out UC. BUT it was the first game of the season. Sometimes all the pieces aren't in place the first game. It'd be a great game to watch if they played now.
  7. Congratulations on great win by UC with brilliant play calling and flawless execution. Scout film I watched of UC does not do their athletes justice. UC defense is fast and on the ball. I was impressed with their defense more than their offense. They scouted us well too, and knew where we were going with the ball almost every play, and we had to get away from our own running game too early. #8 on UC is one of the best safeties I've seen play all year. Not every big, but he'll pop you and he gets up out of every pile. Can't say enough about #30 fullback. Just a beast. #6 QB is a smooth operator too. And that pass play called from the 1 yard line after we drove it down and didn't get it in was brilliant, and back breaking. UC only had 2 penalties, both on defense (the new targeting rules they have now) and CA had only 1 penalty on Offense. UC had the ball 29 minutes of the 48. I'm extremely proud of this group of CA ballers this year though. Over-achievers! A great senior class that all the others look up to and would follow off the cliff. I can tell you from talking with them all after the game that they left it all out on the field. Nothing to be ashamed about. It was just a case of playing a physically stronger team. Good luck on your pursuit of the gold ball UC, and we plan to see you next year.
  8. The significance of this game is not lost on these starters and subs for CA. They learned from the experience at Greenback as Fr and So. And they learned from the experience with hosting South Pitt at home. Lessons that were hard to come by in region 4 - 1A regular season. This is a “football smart” group of kids. They have re-calibrated with each experience and by playing up in 2A this year, the regular season has had a tremendous effect. Their growth has been exponential. Not sure playing in 1A regular season would have had the same effect... (notwithstanding the awesome season the Cornersville team has had this year. Wouldn’t want to grab that bulldog’s tail right now). Coach Lansdell has been a visionary from day one and he turned loose a coaching staff 5 years ago that always had the potential that is being manifested today. This is a “home grown” team beginning with kindergarten, and has never been more ready for this game. Go Dawgs!
  9. Just downloaded your app. Nice! (First song playing “Don’t let the sun go down on me” Was that you in the enclosed coaches box upstairs at CA last week? Glad you’re coming back!
  10. Happy Thanksgiving to ALL Coach T posters! Regardless of our differing opinions and passions, I’m thankful for our freedoms in the USA, for football, Coach T and these forums. Congratulations to every team that has the opportunity to practice today!
  11. Can’t wait for this one. Old school football from both sides. Our CA line basically walks up to the defense and tells them we are just going to run up the gut until you stop us or give up. Sounds like UC does the same. CA can also sting with the pass when they feel like it is time. The key may be determined by how many players play both ways and who tires out first. Then it’s all about “want to.” Turnovers could be detrimental to either side.
  12. Proud of our neighbors in Cornersville. I’ll be pulling for fellow Bulldogs! After playing these boys the last two years all of us at CA knew they would be a force to be reckoned with. I’m not really surprised they are this far along. Go Dawgs!
  13. We prefer to grind it as well. For instance our offense possessed the ball 35 minutes out of the 48, leaving Waverly with the ball 13 min. Now Waverly did score twice on 3 plays, but It’s still hard to put points in the board without the ball. Gonna be a great night of old school football. We are anxious for you guys to come over and check our place out.
  14. “Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
  15. I drive through Waverly frequently for business and I am fond of small towns like theirs and it is similar to the one I grew up in. I love how these communities wrap themselves into their HS sports. I know the town will come over to support them, and I am excited they get to come to CA campus. The vast majority of us will be welcoming to our visitors and want you to leave, regardless of the outcome, with a good impression of our school, it’s supporters and students. The field is natural bermuda, but of course it is brown, so we have sown winter rye. It’s holding up well. The visitors bleachers will hold about 600. There’s plenty of parking behind the visitors stands, and to the right or left. There’s lots of selections in our concessions and hope you’ll come early to eat with us. If Waverly’s radio can’t be tuned in, and you like to listen while watching live, tune into 101.7 FM. We also broadcast live on NFHSnetwork.com on the internet if you can’t make it. From stats point of view off of MxP, the keys to the game: Waverly has to stop CA’s clock running ground and pound game, outrushing Waverly on the year by almost 100 yds, and CA has to ground Waverly’s quick strike passing attack, out pacing CAs developing passing game by 200 yds per game. Can’t wait. Y’all be safe coming over
  16. I’ve got pictures. Want to see them? I can IM them to you. Plus Lansdell was almost to the track when LC hit him. A no brainer call for the worst ref.
  17. 35-17 2:46 left in 4th (in case ddaddy lost his battery)
  18. Makes up for two pass interference no calls in the first half
  19. Here 40 min early....no parking left. Out on the street!
  20. Headed to LCHS for the first time myself. I had a coworker years ago that kept me posted on her boys when they played. ...the Grieve boys (spelling?). I know it will be a great atmosphere. Looking forward to a great game.
  21. Back to the game...it may last only two years, but this is already a great rivalry between our two teams. Years ago this wouldn't have been possible. Thankful CA has stepped up its effort to get good coaching to help us be competitive. Lots of us abnormally serious fans will be tied up in knots leading up to kick off. Ready for the beautiful drive over to Hohenwald, and an action packed game.
