Coaches, 

On November 17th, the Black and Gold Wrestling Club will be hosting the 2018 King of the Mat middle school wrestling tournament. The tournament will be held in the Ellis middle school gym.  The format of the tournament has not changed, still a double elimination, team scoring event. We will be placing top 4 in each weight class, top 3 teams, and a most outstanding wrestler. Please pass this information on to anyone who may be interested in attending our tournament. Please email or call me as soon as possible if you plan on attending 

 

Event:  King of the Mat 2018

 

Location: Ellis middle school gym (100 Indian Lake Rd, Hendersonville, TN 37075)

 

Weigh ins:  7am-8am (there is no weight allowance)

 

Weights:  72, 78, 86, 94, 100, 108, 115, 123, 130, 140, 150, 165, 185, 215, 265 

 

Coaches Meeting:  8am-9am 

 

Cost: $150 Per initial/varsity team, if you have extra wrestlers or a second team it will be $10 per wrestler

      TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.

      stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
